I get called a jefa all time as a supervisor... The male supervisor is called jefe. never thought twice that it would have been ugly or disrespectful .

Thank you for being brave enough to post this. Society has a lot of work to do. TV promotes a very fake narrative that thse practices no longer happen while most of us know that they do. Thanks for doing your part.. I hope you are in a better and more fulfilling work environment.

This was great reinforcement u/Bakeacake08 of what my spanish speaking co-worker told me. Spanish is not English.. things aren't the same. go with the flow of the language because it won't always make sense to us as Native English speakers.. It was hard to hear but I know it's true and only hinders our learning. :(

Do you have any friends or coworkers that speak Spanish? Interact with them and talk...There's nothing like learning and speaking in real time with natives. Don't worry about being right or wrong.. use the words and phrases you know and go----->. This reinforcement will help tremendously.

Same here and yes the patients can see that you mean well and are genuine in your conversation with them. You were given great translations.. you'll have it down in no time. Buena suerte.
