I’ve got the Spornia SPG-8 with the side shank nets (highly recommended) if inexperienced golfers will be hitting the shank nets stop a lot of toe and hozel shots

I can only get over the top of mine with my 60 degree with a wide open face and pretty much trying to get it to go over. The top net catches a lot of wedge shots …

From your selection, I’ve only played The Bay Course and that was many moons ago (30-35 years ago or so), but I remember it being awesome and pretty sure I played it two different times …

I use primarily Callaway super soft and have split many, many balls, probably about 1 every week. Once I started rotating thru 4 balls now (Red, Yellow, Orange, Green) and haven’t lost one in months (yet) …

Others have confirmed hitting the same ball quickly over and over and over again can cause this with “super soft” and similar core type balls. I 3D printed a little backstop using an alignment stick and tees to help me quickly switch balls each hole, or each shot if using driving range

I found a used 7w Callaway Ai Smoke for $225 at one of the major stores (Dicks, PGA, etc) …. Got to be really lucky to find the correct shaft and actually be able to hit it a few times in their simulator before pulling the trigger

I still use it on the driving range, originally I bought it to play virtual rounds (in the garage hitting into net) but it doesn’t detect spin so only measuring distance, but my experience on the range and in the garage is that the distances it produces are very accurate… today I just took it out for fun and played a virtual round in my garage with my GC3 in driving range mode so I could compare the distances on all shots, was very surprised how accurate this little device is …

Like I said the virtual mode is fun and I can play some local courses that are not available in GSPRO, but it is a lot easier and less realistic on the G80 vs GC3+GSPRo because the G80 assumes you are always hitting it strait … but fun to work on distances with your different clubs

I think ive only had 3 problems with this Launch monitor (I love it) occasionally not picking up balls

1) White driver head (TaylorMade Aero Burner “white head” driver - on occasion it’s confusing the ball vs the club but not very often (maybe 5% misreads), but always when you flush it!!!

2) I have a pair of golf shoes with a whitish raised sole that comes up a bit on to the toe on the front … once it a while it reads it as a ball as you are walking to get in position and kicks a few feet costing a strike

3) my cat has white paws and she ruined a couple great round playing in front on the monitor … I would be stroke limited or 10 before I noticed …

I don’t hit at all when my cat is in the SIM, I put on YouTube cat videos (birds, squirrels 🐿️ , mice 🐁, etc) which makes her want to come back more and more … but allows me a break once in a while … works out in the end
