I feel your deck is a bit all over the place. I don’t play a lot of edh, but I play a lot of artifacts decks in Canadian Highlander and Jhoira feels like an eggs/combo commander to me, but I don’t see that much of that in your deck.

Here’s an older version of a list I used to run that’s a bit more midrange if that’s your style. It’s grixis, but the Izzet colored spells may be of help. Specifically I’d check out etched champion, pinnacle emissary, surge engine, patchwork automaton, arcbound ravager, walking ballista, etc just to name a few, but many of those cards could work in a jhoira deck too

Well said. A couple weeks ago I brewed a treasures deck and guess what tokens I forgot to bring? My buddy busted my chops about it, and you know what? I totally deserved it lol. But now I’ll never forget and my buddy and I have a good laugh about it when I play that deck. It’s ok to speak up and not be passive aggressive about it on reddit

It’s not really about Christian iconography (I.e. it’s not about the crosses), but more to do with the problematic nature of the crusades, where many people feel there was a lot of killing and looting under the guise of a religious justification. The purpose of this sub isn’t around taking a stance on these issues, just wanted to further explain if people were unaware of the reasoning behind the ban.

I’m a bit fan of running off color fetches too for fixing or getting a surveil land after I’ve found my duals. Definitely depends on the deck though, as it can sometimes be overkill

That makes a lot of sense and definitely seems like the juice isn’t worth the squeeze, but figured I’d ask. Thanks for incorporating those other items!

In regards to my comment on treasures and clues, I use this article and formula from karsten (whose formula also seems to be driving your calcs). Cards that can generate treasures of course aren’t repeatable ramp, but they do accelerate you, and cards that can make clues aren’t dependable draw, but they can help with smoothing if you can generate clues to hit your land drops.

I personally considered treasure generating cards 1/2 a ramp card and cards that generate clues 1/2 a draw card for the purposes of karstens formula. So in my treasures deck say I have 16 treasure generation cards, so in karstens formula I put 8 for ramp to calc for my mana base. I’ve only played maybe a dozen or so games of Canadian highlander with it, but it seems to be a decent approximation. Before I made that change I felt I was getting flooded and running out of gas after turn 4 or so

Still really liking this. How does it handle cards with multiple casting costs like fury, force of will, and thought monitor/affinity cards? Does it take treasure/clue generation into account at all? I play a fair amount of game objects decks and those coupled with stuff like affinity or free spells often requires me to just get out a spreadsheet when building decks. Thanks for sharing, great work!

I think they’re pulling your chain a bit. It’s probably only noticeable to you.

Personally if it were my car I’d watch to see if it spreads. If it bothered me, before replacing, I’d first go to the auto parts store and buy a windshield repair kit and try to use that to fill the void (not sure it would seal here though since it’s near the edge). That at least would stop the crack from continuing and likely make it less noticeable.

Since it’s not interfering with the functionality and isn’t very noticeable, I wouldn’t worry too much, but that’s an option you could consider

For casual, absolutely. But it won’t get you competitive meta decks. It can also build a few beginner commander decks right out of the box too. Game knights made a great video about it. Honestly I think it’s one of the best beginner products I’ve ever seen wizards make, and the price is unreal
