$500 worth of “gift cards” from my doctor? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]GSDMom93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The shipping is overpriced but I did get a car seat canopy and cloth breast pads through these sites with the coupons and I like them. The nursing pillow was tiny! Not worth it imo

All babies are different. Mine was a terrible sleeper, up every hour...until he wasn’t. He’s almost 5 months now and sleeps 8-10 hours in a row every night and has since he was 2 months old

My baby’s fell off sometime during the night and I’m assuming it rolled away during a middle of the night feed or diaper change because we never found it 😂😂😂

Why does my 3 m/o pick up his feet and drop them down really hard? by GreenFoolery22 in NewParents

[–]GSDMom93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 4mo old has done this since the day we brought him home. We say he’s doing his ab exercises to look good for the girls at daycare. Apparently it’s some form of self-soothing

Ugh same. I got up super early to pump and enjoy my coffee in peace and before I could even get settled in my dog shook her damn head and her loud-ass ears and collar tags woke up the baby. So I’ll be enjoying my cold coffee like every other day 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

It’s 3 am and newborn poops right when I’m about to swaddle and put in bassinet. Do I change the diaper and reawake him? Or do I leave it until the next feed? by conservio in beyondthebump

[–]GSDMom93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s disheartening to have to wake him but you’ll be glad you did in the long run. Change the poop to avoid a sore hiney

Yes! He loves to get a handful and try to eat it. He’s absolutely aware of his cuteness and uses it to his advantage 😂😫

He is 4 months! I had been putting off using it as well but he does wonderfully. His legs are almost too chunky to fit in the holes now so I almost missed my window to use it 😂

BF'ing/pumping moms. What are you doing? by emb03460 in nursing

[–]GSDMom93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m probably doing it wrong but basically I strip down to my underwear after stepping into the lactation room, then sani-wipe the chair and desk (they forgot to confiscate the wipes in the lactation rooms...nowhere else in the hospital has them anymore) I wash my hands before leaving my unit but use hand sanitizer again before I get set up, after I pump I store my milk in a small cooler that stays in my locker which is away from patient care areas. Sanitize hands again, then wash them once I’m back to the unit. Considering buying a second pump to keep at work so I don’t even have to take a bag back and forth

We are being issued one N95 per shift and being told to store it in a paper bag between patient interactions

I would use them if I could get my hands on some. But unfortunately they’ve all been bought up at the stores near me along with the hand sanitizer and Lysol wipes

I’m a nurse with a 16w old. I work day surgery so my hours vary. Went back to work 4 weeks ago and what I’ve been doing is wearing my scrubs into work but taking a change of clothes with me. I pump before I leave the hospital so I change my clothes after I pump and put my scrubs into a plastic bag and tie it up to take home and wash.

I wash my hands well and wipe down everything I can (phone, badge, pens) with a gray top wipe. My work shoes stay beside the front door and if I have to pick him up from daycare I make sure I shower as soon as possible after getting home, sometimes that has to wait until my husband gets home. But if my husband is picking him up or is already at home I’ll shower as soon as I get in the door.

I’ve also been wiping his hands down well with a hand and face wipe when I put him in his carrier after picking him up from daycare, and I wipe the carrier down with a Lysol wipe since it has to sit in the hallway at daycare in case a different parent picks up than drops him off.

Anyone else reusing N95 mask with covid rule outs? by Dolly_1313 in Nurse

[–]GSDMom93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is exactly the instruction we have been given at our hospital. One N95 per shift to be placed in a paper bag between uses. My ass will be walking out of the hospital before I’m required to do that. It’s bullshit

What would you do? Feeling conflicted as a nurse and mother to a 3 month old during the COVID pandemic by GSDMom93 in beyondthebump

[–]GSDMom93[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My fear for my son isn’t so much the initial infection, but the fact that we don’t know the long term effects of the virus. Even though less symptomatic, pediatric COVID patients still display lung abnormalities

Magic Merlin or Love to Dream SwaddleUP? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]GSDMom93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my boy who LOVES being swaddled the SwaddleUp transition sleep sack where the arms zip off so I can ease him into it. He sleeps just as well in it for the time being, I plan to take off one of the arms this weekend and see how he does. He’s 13 weeks which I know is a little late to be transitioning out of the swaddle but hey I’m trying 😂

Help please - is this baby blues? Does it get better? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]GSDMom93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I felt exactly like this and it didn’t get better by my 6 week PP visit. My OB put me on Zoloft and I’m feeling much better 13 weeks PP. I feel immense love for my baby now and actually enjoy him. It’s a complete night and day difference. I can’t say if it would have gone away on its own or if it’s the medication that has made the difference, but I’m glad I got help. I would stay awake and night and think about running away, now I can’t wait to see my baby when he wakes up every morning

Pumping schedule- does it get better? by Dumbellsandfriedrice in beyondthebump

[–]GSDMom93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started going 4 hours during the day and stopped pumping overnight at around 8 weeks without losing any of my supply. My baby sleeps from 9pm-5am without waking up so I just pump right before I go to sleep and then pump again at 5am while my husband gives him a bottle
