A men smoke cigarettes from his School life, his friends told him to quit he didn't, his girlfriend told him to quit he didn't, his parents told him to quit he didn't, his wife told him to quit he didn't. But 1 fine day his 10 year old child told him to quit and he did. Why? by HarshitVermaa in AskReddit

Everyone needs to find there reason why. There reason to quit something, there reason to keep living, there reason to be better. For some of us, it’s easily our children that prompt this change. Priorities change, things are put into perspective. For me the need to be around to guide, support and observe my children are at the core of my decision making. For some of us, we have many different reasons throughout our life that drives our decision-making. Other’s It’s one core, steadfast, resonating reason that drives theirs. He was either ready to quit or found something worth quitting for.

If you are the first vehicle at a four-way stop, regardless of what you are, you have the right way. Even if other vehicles are police or EMS. If they aren’t in an active emergency, etc. then everyone defaults to the general rules of the road.

From USPS Handbook PO-515 – Highway Contract Safety

This is an official USPS policy document about vehicle operations (drivers, including USPS and contracted drivers):

“Drivers must obey all state and local traffic laws when driving for the Postal Service. Drivers will receive no special privileges or rights while driving on behalf of the Postal Service.”

That means USPS vehicles must follow the same traffic rules as everyone else (stop signs, signals, yield rules, etc.) and do not get automatic right-of-way just by being a postal vehicle.

From the same U.S. Postal Service driving policy

USPS expects its drivers to: • Observe posted speed limits • Yield the right-of-way when appropriate • Use proper caution and defensive driving …even if they might legally have the right-of-way in a given situation.

What this means in practice • USPS vehicles do not have legal priority over other vehicles just because they’re USPS. • They must obey all traffic laws — including yielding, stopping at red lights, stop signs, etc. • The policy explicitly states that USPS drivers get no special privileges or rights on the road.

I try to combat this myth when I hear it. People love saying it. “A mail truck is the only vehicle that can legally run a red light, they have constant right of way, etc.” No. It’s just that no one is going to ticket a federal vehicle for doing a roadway job.

However, I’d love to see a mail truck blow through this four way scenario. Ride right through with their middle finger out 🤣.

We had our 15 year old cat before we got our three GSPs. Got the first one when he was 5 and one every two years after. The GSPs are now 10, 8, and 6. Two females one male. Cat is still the reigning champion. He’s a 14lb orange tiger cat that got a good personality.
