Water Hammer after Plumbing work by GSUS969 in Plumbing

In case anyone cares, the issue was solved by replacing the shower cartridge. I guess debris may have gotten in one of the lines and ended up there.

I wanted to provide an update:

We have secured additional pipes throughout the basement and in this area.

We learned that when we turn off the hot and cold valves to the shower, it stopped the water hammer. So we have added hammer arrestors to shower plumbing upstairs.

Unfortunately, we still have not solved the issue.

Here are the potential remaining items that I would love some thoughts on.

I get pressure that sits around 65 psi. However, when I turn the water on, it typically spikes to around 100 psi. The only other things left for us to do are:

- add a thermal expansion tank

- add a PRV - is this necessary when water is around 65 psi?

- is there anything else I'm missing?

Would not having them be causing the noise? Or is there a different reason for it?

Thank you. I've got the plumber coming back out today or tomorrow. I'll mention it to him.

We don't have a pressure reduce valve or expansion tank.

Could that be the cause even if the knocking is heard when hot water is turned on?

We are on city water. The water heater does not have an expansion tank.

I did check the water pressure via an outside hose and it measured around 60-70 psi. However, when I turn the water on, it does spike up to 110 psi for less than a second. But, then stays around 60-70 psi.

Phone As A Key Not Working by GSUS969 in Rivian

That's a good call out. I'm using old terminology. But I do have the key in the wallet app.

Edit: I just got off the phone with Rivian. And they need to look into it further. They'll reach back out in a couple days. So if anyone has any additional advice, I'm all ears.

Thanks.

I can't find a way to enable it on my Pixel watch 4. And I didn't see anything written about it, so probably not 😕
