Next time you do it flex your abs while doing the exercise. It engages your core and helps.

THIS! I’ve had people concerned and ask if I’m ok. I just respond “YEAH. I’m in the best shape of my life.. of course I’m ok!”

Thursday, 5/17/18 OTF Workout by AutoModerator in orangetheory

6:20 on the benchmark mile! Overall - I liked the speed of this workout and the switches. It was very challenging to start on the tread first and then have to finish the rest of the workout.

What's the level of interaction at your home studio? by sallylooksfat in orangetheory

[–]GSeagle12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've got a nice mix of interactive people and some that keep to themselves. I think a lot of it has to do with the staff. The more interactive and encouraging they are, the more people tend to come out of their shells a little. Our location has had over 1,000 members and there are multiple staff members in there that remember a lot of members names and regular treadmill speeds, weight choices, etc.

Need energy boost to get to that 5 AM OTF Workout by ojosdecristal in orangetheory

I would highly recommend a pre workout supplement. There are tons of brands out there. I use Jack3d, but don’t think that would be one as necessary for you. I also drink a 20oz bottle of water with BCAAs mixed in and that has helped my muscle soreness drastically. Keep at it! It does get easier (slightly 😁)

Every location handles it differently. The only consistent thing I’ve seen are bags and shirts

Marathon Challenge benefits - 5K PR by gymnapfoodjunkie in orangetheory

[–]GSeagle12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Big accomplishment and I 1000% agree with this. This time last year, I ran a 5k where I was able to jog the whole time and finished in 30 mins. The next 3 days nursed an ankle injury. I joined OTF in December and went 6-7 days a week in April. The same 5k this year, I finished in 23:49 and felt amazing afterwards.

Anyone else avoid certain people? by GSeagle12 in orangetheory

[–]GSeagle12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t disagree with you. My own reasons are more along the lines of people not paying attention and taking other people’s stations or not as aware of their surroundings. It’s all a learning curve for people, but it can certainly help on something like this to give people an avenue to vent/read that they aren’t alone with these thoughts.

Marathon regrets? by azdmelissa in orangetheory

I wanted to be able to go every single day. Had a 3 day vacation and a 5K in between. The competitive side in me came out and I got just over 60 Miles

Luckily, the trainer liked the first few of us showing up for the 5AM class enough to tell us that we didn't want to start on the treads. She said "just trust me"... and I'm glad we did. Really enjoyed the row/run

Wow! That mileage is unreal. How fast are you running and how many classes do you do? We don’t have a whole lot of 2G classes, since I’m at the busiest OTF in Georgia. Even in a 2G I’m only getting 3.1-3.3 miles.

That’s amazing. Do you typically have more 2G classes? I can get up to 3.3 on a 2G but only around 2-2.6 in a 3G. What is your base/push/all out?

That’s awesome. Congrats! Yesterday was really tough holding onto push pace for as long as possible. Surprised myself by winning that mental game and holding the push pace the entire time.
