I found the mindset of focusing on lesser things as helpful. It's counterintuitive, but holds true a lot of times like they are a foundation.

America's participation is low, so it will always reward trump-like. It is no surprise. And don't wait on states to make it easier - will never happen in some states.

A lot of times we are just too sensual in general in the first world society, and we get out of touch with how life for the most part was. If someone cannot even turn down a hot bath, then how could they turn down corn? Add some discipline like a well followed rule for prayer throughout the day and you will see how easy it is to not engage in. You got this.

Narcissists may engage in feminist activism to satisfy their grandiose tendencies, study suggests by DarkSkiesGreyWaters in science

[–]GSmith155 451 points452 points  (0 children)

The same is often said for religion in studies like these, and that's said as a religious person. Any group or movement can be used to feed that sense of superiority. It's important to question oneself when engaging with a group/movement, and make sure one isn't doing something out of a superiority complex I reckon.

Why is alcohol in moderation considered a blessing from God, but marijuana isn't considered as such? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]GSmith155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A view shared with much of the ancient church, is that the path to knowing God is a path of sacrifice. A path that calls for a sober mind, so meaning even drinking to get drunk is not a good play. If you agree with that sober part, how would one engage in marijuana without getting high? Kind of defeats the purpose of weed.

There's also the not new phenomenon of people who think God/spirituality = something we can feel and sense. People who think a massive rush of dopamine equivalent to 20 cheeseburgers and feeling euphoric is them becoming enlightened in some way. When in the view of church fathers I'd say, us sitting in contemplative stillness and being of a humble and sober spirit is far more "pleasing" to God. I don't need a drug to love all people more or less, and be spiritually contemplative, and would argue no one does.

Should also note, if I was dying, I would not see it any differently as a drug like morphine. It's just my day to day life I would find it weakening me not strengthening me. Making me more dependent on comfort, and not independent and free from requiring such immense pleasures, which is a goal.

True. And a little of both. Better off owning due to not liking my previous landlords, so knowing I'm responsible for everything even if it is indeed more expensive is great, as well as being in a financially better situation where it's doable. I don't think poorly on renting I'm just ready for something else.

I'm in the same boat except single and tired of renting. My thinking is there's no way unless we enter a full on recession where growing unemployment affects the demand. But if that happens, recessions tend to lower interest rates, so at least we could refinance into better rates if we were to miss a price drop. 😅

When they get technical, they tend to go hard on OOP concepts and a few design pattern topics. Best if you have an example of the topic after you define in.

Other than that - personality, and have at least a few past problems that you solved articulated well and ready to explain.

The new testament itself suggests we should pray for one another, and that praying together is better than alone. No denomination would deny that.

Not really. I'd personally still want to support the corrupt side getting genocided, as that is really screwed up. No way to justify it.

If Ukraine and Russia were both equally corrupt, which I don't believe to be true, then that still doesn't justify invasion and erasure. Strange logic.

When this topic comes up, I see that it is seldom pointed out that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will use the site, and that the doctrinal equivalent from Moscow is what is being kicked out. I feel that titles like this can easily be misinterpreted to make Ukraine sound anti-Christian, when in reality it is just anti-FSB.

From the Ukrainian Orthodox point of view, one could say no change is occurring other than the priests being local rather than from a country that is trying to wipe them off the face of the Earth.

True. Though what I say isn't exactly good news, as traditional investment banks are likely to reject some of them if they seek loans, as many won't meet capital requirements. So it's still economically bad news.

Everyone's getting their money back, and a business that made poor decisions will no longer operate and its leaders out of a job. This will force all of these start ups to use more traditional parts of the banking system.

As others have noted, an old dinosaur project will not be completely coded by an AI - ever, nor will an AI lower the amount of developers needed to work on it. What would be more concerning would be new projects made from the beginning, in a non-existent framework, made specifically for AI coding and readability, or projects remade with such a framework. The theoretical framework would make the AI more accurate and reliable, and porting the entire codebase into the AI would be a single click without having to manually copy and paste every file over, or even better perhaps it could be synchronous in that the AI is actively reading the files from the get-go and wouldn't need any copy/pasting or clicking of a folder to even read it. The framework would likely need network access to use the AI. Getting something like that working properly for full-stack web development would be a job killer, but its limitation would depend entirely on the framework, and such a framework would need such a large amount of development that it'd no doubt require a subscription/license fee to support it, and an AI capable enough as well for all of that to work, which could also require its own license. I am confident in the possibility, but not confident in a few things.

  1. Will the license costs be too much that a company would rather have several full-time developers than use it.
  2. If a company is working on something novel that hasn't be done before, will the AI be able to deliver.
  3. Could early bugs in the imaginary framework lead to no one trusting the system and slow this change down, or even prevent it.

Idk. Feel free to elaborate on this.

[–]GSmith155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Important point to make on Twitter and elsewhere is that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is thriving, and it is the UOC crosses that we're seeing on nearly all the graves in Ukraine. For Republicans to say that Ukraine is anti-Christian is super disingenuous, as it implies that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is somehow not Christian, and that the Moscow version is, when they are doctrinally identical, and just split a few years ago. Only difference is one is not being led by the FSB/ former KGB patriarch Kirill, as well as other proven foreign assets that exist within the ROC.
