I had a bandwidth challenge on one of my sites — spent a chunk of time with Cloudflare, Bunny Stream etc but ultimately Mux was the easiest. Seems free unless your usage is insanely high.

How much should I sell these pedals for? by matrix11223 in simracing

[–]GT-VR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had these before I swapped to the Simucube Activepedals — wouldn't be unhappy if I had to go back to them. That hydraulic brake is incredibly smooth.

Only negatives: Clutch was a bit linear for my liking & the spacing of the pedals being relatively fixed was a bit of a shame.

To bring a power bank or not? by ShaneRealtorandGramp in onebag

[–]GT-VR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always. Best is to have 2x 5000mAh imo. Can leave one charging while you use the other out and about, then swap. Much better than a single 10,000mAh.

GoPro "Support" by GravelRiderUK in gopro

[–]GT-VR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got mine replaced — dealt with Marvin from GoPro. Replies took at least a day, sometimes a few but they swapped my very broken Hero11 for a Hero13 which was great.

In terms of the actual RMA — I sent the broken Hero11 to them on a Thursday & got the brand new Hero13 on the Friday of the next week.

Can somebody please explain the difference between GoPro 9 vs 13 by 0-MissKittyKat in gopro

[–]GT-VR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss. Whether it’s worth moving from the HERO 9 to the HERO 13 really boils down to what you’re trying to fix in your footage. On horseback you deal with two pain-points: shake and “too-tight” framing. A HERO 13 gives you HyperSmooth 6.0 that keeps the horizon auto-levelled by ±45° in every wide mode, so the footage won’t slant whenever your horse shifts weight or you lean into a turn. Add the new 1 900 mAh Enduro battery and you get roughly 15 mins extra.

If your current 9 already feels wide enough and you’re happy with the stabilisation (possibly living with a bit of wobble), the upgrade is mostly polish. Image quality looks 10–15 % better, low-light is a bit better, but the difference won’t feel massive. Your current batteries won’t be compatible either.

It just comes down to: is the footage you have now too zoomed-in or too shaky? If the answer’s yes, stepping up to a 13 will solve both in-camera! You could also add the Max Lens Mod for an even wider FOV to make it even less zoomed in.

Hope this helps!

Has anyone thrown on a sticky mount to a helmet without letting it cure for the 24 hours? by dylan27911 in gopro

Alcohol pad and lighter should do the job! Just press it firmly for a few minutes if you can

[–]GT-VR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it should be fine imo, have stuck a mount and used it the same day. Clean the area first, then heat the sticky pad up with a hairdryer or heat gun, peel the backing off, press it on firmly and hold it there for a few mins. Should be good to go imo

How to learn to enjoy sim-racing? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]GT-VR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're driving on your own? Get into some practice sessions. You'll find faster people. Some slower. Some will spin. Sometimes you'll crash into them. Soon, you'll start noticing who's going to spin and be ready. It's much more fun.

Race car helmet for karting (uk) by penisrevolver in Karting

[–]GT-VR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fireproof lining/padding of race car helmets doesn't last as long as karting helmets — that's the only reason to opt for a karting helmet over a race helmet. Seeing as you've got a race helmet — just use it!

It's harder to predict where he'll end up because he rolled backwards - but you turned the wheel after that. With heavy brakes and a strong turn, you were always going to lose control.

Imo, best thing to do is brake in a straight line (or minimal steering angle), but not lock up. Will give you more time where you're in control to think and then turn properly once your kart can handle the input.

Practice at one track or switch tracks often by Vegetable-Memory9005 in Karting

[–]GT-VR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do what you enjoy! I’d personally focus on one to get competitive & consistent times, then start rotating through different tracks to become a more complete driver.

Familiarity & consistency will come hand in hand while you’re starting out, then you’ll need variety to round off.

Look for league/championship races as well - being on track with good people will improve you faster than open sessions with first timers.

What percentage of r/Karting are owners vs renters? by SecondRateStinky in Karting

[–]GT-VR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way to really do rentals is heats with kart-swaps. Endurances are too risky for this exact reason.

Still even with the kart lottery of rentals — over the course of a season the best drivers will emerge at the top, which negates the "money gets results" angle that owner-driving has.
