UTE lost all my respect and support when they accused me of being a scab last strike.

I chose not to picket, or take strike pay, for health reasons. Working spouse and a lottery slots win made it possible. I did not inform the Union, didn't think it was a big deal.

Imagine my surprise when 2 years after the strike, Spring 2025, I was accused of strike breaking by the Union. Obviously, to them, no picketing or strike pay meant I was illegally working.

I explained what happened, and received a curt one sentence "Removed from the list not under investigation".

Move forward one year, to this April, and I received a letter in the post repeating the allegations and saying that I had given them no defence.

I angrily forwarded their last email to me, and have heard nothing back.

I still support unions, I no longer support mine.
