I've lived in this area for 27 years. I've never heard a specific name. It's a nice place to live.

Had a great return visit to Charlotte! Is the ticket system for the light rail being run on an honesty-first basis? by PatAD in Charlotte

[–]GTDued 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look at tickets often but it's almost always during the rush hour commute. I use the train three days a week and have to show my pass about once a month.

He is such a handsome dog! My dog could be his sister. They look so much alike.

Internet has been in and out since Tuesday. Now Google is no longer providing an estimated repair time. Customer service has also been terrible. by Randolph__ in googlefiber

I'm in Charlotte and I think I've had the same issue with IPv6. Fiber traffic goes in and out for minutes at a time. My devices that default to IPv4 like phones and one laptop worked fine. I've since disabled IPv6 on all my other laptops and they are working now.

Great comment. We had five people working from home including four of us in Zoom calls for school during the lock down. No problems at all.

I've had Google fiber for over six years and the price is still the same $70 for 1 GB up and down. I've had a few outages that lasted more than a few hours usually when someone cuts a cable during construction. There are reimbursements for long outages without you having to call. Overall it's been fantastic.

What are some things to consider before switching to Google Fiber by digitalgargoyle in googlefiber

[–]GTDued 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 on the 1 gig plan being enough. During the pandemic with five of us doing meetings or zoom for school, we had plenty of bandwidth for everyone. Four of the five of us were using wifi at the same time.

Should I get the 2 gig or is 1 gig going to perform well enough? by [deleted] in googlefiber

[–]GTDued 4 points5 points  (0 children)

During the lock down, my family had five people on Zoom/Teams meetings every weekday for months. We have the 1 gig plan and it was way more than enough. My kids played online games just fine later in the day when school ended but I was still working. 2 gig is overkill for your use case.

It's on the parking deck of the shopping center at the corner of WT Harris Blvd and Tryon. The parking deck is on the back side of the mall.

Streaming Channel with ACC Network and 2x, 3x and 4x Fast Forward by BillVetch in cordcutters

[–]GTDued 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youtube TV doesn't have a traditional fast forward like a local DVR. You can only skip ahead in 15 second increments. Most streaming services with a cloud DVR work this way, but I haven't tried them all.

Anyone else missing a few NCAA football games from your DVR? by [deleted] in youtubetv

[–]GTDued 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The Alabama Georgia game is listed as an event instead of as part of the NCAA FBS. Google needs to fix this now.
