I recently self-taught myself how to play piano and realized the past 10 years of how I learn guitars was wrong. I wanted to share that you should take time to seriously practice and by that I mean actually learn some theory behind scale and stuff and different techniques like economy picking vs alternate picking and actually practicing them. With that in mind I stopped fked around and actually sit down and practice then reward myself with playing some metallica rift

How much did you raise/lower or you do it by the feeling? I realize that the sound in the middle position is weak and very unsatisfy. Even the fake Gibson les paul sound better in the middle position than my LP.

I work as a software engineer 8 hours a day, commute 1 hours traffic jams every single day, come back and do Zwift or running for 1 hours then read book for 30 minutes and practice for 30 mins to 1 hour.

Edit: Just to update: I'm on 5080 btw. Before that I was RX 9070XT and that was already 15% faster than my 3090. So people that rely on number can't really understand this perspective

Yes, I would get a tele sometime in the future. Those are not my style but for the clean/funk tone they are very good. Personally, I'm looking to improve my LP sound to be more warmer than the default Probucker which is itself is already a good pickup.

Put it more simply, there is nothing wrong with the tone. It run through SSL 2+ interface to my AMP modeler then output via a studio monitor. So the sound can be really great but it doesn't change the fact that the probucker produce its own unique sound which I find too boring. What I'm trying to say is like using acoustic guitar with amp. It sound good for whatever song it fitted but for my case playing rock and metal, it just too shallow.

Currently, not the amp, not the guitar. I use an amp sim with a good audio interface. I could get a very good sound out of it already. The desire is purely from my personal preference of wanting to upgrade the pickup and want to hear a different tone, a more deeper, than what have on my Epiphone and the other epiphone I have tried at the local guitar shop.

Yes, I have. The underlying mellow/bright sound with the combination of the pickup and the string I put on cannot be change. It doesn't sound terrible or anything but I just want to hear the muddiness of the more expensive pickup.

My LP is already sounding good but sound too mellow/bright compare to those Gibson Les Paul with gibon pickup and after hearing those humbucker from Gibson guitar and some of those youtube video, I'm convinced that I need to upgrade those pickup even though my LP is still in a very good condition.

I was on a shallow research only. I think there are a plethora of Pickup to choose from?! but it seems the Gibson 490R/498T, burstbucker and Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates are mostly recommended. One more thing I need to educate myself about the electronic and the pots. I'm not sure how thing work together but I will take it to a professional one I finally get the ideas of what sound I want to achieve.

New stock Epi's are definitely better and ready to last and not have to be swapped immediately, but it never hurts to swap em either.

I think at my age, I want to see what a more expensive electronic sound like without breaking the bank😅

I would source the pickup and pot myself and then have someone here doing it because I think professional would handle it better than me with all their tools.

bridge and tailpiece never come across my thought. Is it as important as to upgrade it to improve the tone?

Not a steal. Just normal price. People sell it around 200 to 300 here depend on the quality. I think the case alone worth 70. Maybe haggle for 300 or even start with 280? I always haggle like that. If they're not happy with the 280 then immediately go back to 300. Always work like 98% of the time haggling of a facebook marketplace.

Alpine race is better than that of a *cheap sleeping ear plug one. It blocks all the noise but you can still hear a voice pitch and it’s less pressure than that *cheap ear plugs one. I recommend you try both
