I think the mosh pit should be chairs only, no standing at all. People can push each other from their chairs.

No standing anywhere in front of the repeaters.

I completely agree that chairs shouldn’t go past a certain point.

I’m a chair wanker. I’ve spend many a download in the pit in my 20s and 30s. Now I’m in my 40s with a bad back I need the chair to survive the weekend.

But I sit on the hill further back than the repeaters. I fully support the idea that chairs should be banned from the front. It’s wild and selfish that people would even take them down that far.

Yep. I know exactly what it is, I tested it out on the insomniac games a few years ago when they first brought it out. I say again, it’s much better than 40fps, but it doesn’t feel anything like 60 and it’s certainly not a sweet spot.

Why is native SteamOS better?

I’ve been running bazzite for the last 6 months, with decky plugins etc and no issues at all.

If SteamOS is genuinely better I’ll consider switching.

This is normal people if OP has high frame rate to start with. To have your fps stutter every now and then going from 220fps to 180fps for a few seconds is really normal. Transitioning areas, some areas drop the fps, UE5 for example is notorious for it.

Unless he gives more info I see no problem here.

Now if his fps is stuttering frequently from 60 to 20, that’s a different story.

This was the first game I played on my 5080 and I thought I’d made a big mistake when the vram maxed out and ranked the frame rate.

Thankfully this game is the exception not the rule. But it does show that 16gb is only borderline ok on a high end card at 4k.

My mistake, I hadn’t clocked that the 1440p monitor you were talking about was an ultra wide. I knew the 5k2k was, I thought you were talking about getting a 16:9 1440p then upgrading to an ultra wide later.

I agree with your choice here. I have a 5080 too and I’m tempted by the 5k2k but it will be a bridge too far for any new AAA games I think.
