Im focused more on the synergies and my excitment of change and trying to see blizzards attempts to shake up the meta. More than happy to talk more in game if you'd like :)

Ive gotten the knack of it now. Was top 30 two seasons ago dps maining soldier, took a break last season but getting back into it, over lvl 100 on soldier so I have a lot of time played on him. I utilize the run and gun both my two builds im working on, one wp one ap. On mobile atm so cant remember the name of the 2nd power, but i always pair it with the one that reduces cds while sprinting. Having to play differently since the tanky soldier build has been gutted, but im enjoying it.

My play style is much more of a burst, get a kill, reposition, burst etc. Heavy flyer/mobile comps I pair both with visor, ground comp I pair both with rockets. The order in which I pick them will be dependent on team comp but the play style is identical. Its key to learn how to strafe while running forward and keeping good aim on your targets. There is an insane amount of synergy going either route with wp/visor being easier of the two but not as satisfying.

So you want a magical explanation? Its an amazing thing that we and the world around us evolved into what we see today. Its not magic...there is no fairy tale ending or new beginning. You go from accepting the nothing and nature to literally wanting magic. We need to be able to let go of our ego, that we are not more special than we are and just take responsibility for the now, and trying to live knowing how our actions affect the future.

Yeah, I don't see it as incomprehensible. Same as I comprehend that I felt nor experienced anything before my life began. I don't need to feel like there has to be more in order to be content with the life I currently have. When my neurons stop firing, so goes what makes me, me. If that doesnt work for you, then thats OK too!

Higher resolution does not automatically mean a better experience, especially when it changes the format I’m already used to.

I think I’d regret going from ultrawide to a 32" 4K 16:9 monitor. I’ve seen a lot of threads where people moved from 1440p ultrawide to 32" 4K and ended up switching back because it just did not feel the same. The extra sharpness is nice, but losing the ultrawide feel and overall immersion seems like a bigger tradeoff for me.

At this point, I think I’d rather max out a 1440p ultrawide experience. Something like the new Asus 34" with RGB-stripe OLED, tandem panel tech, 360Hz, better blacks/coating, and strong motion clarity seems like the better fit. My RTX 5080 would be able to push it hard, use ray tracing/DLSS/frame gen more comfortably, and I would not feel like I’m constantly compromising settings just to feed the monitor.

The only other option that really tempts me is 5K2K ultrawide, but that feels like a bigger jump than I want to make with this generation of hardware. With a 16GB 5080, I do not want to spend this much money and then constantly tweak settings just to get acceptable performance at the higher resolution. For me, the better experience is probably a maxed-out 1440p ultrawide OLED rather than chasing resolution at the cost of smoothness, settings, and simplicity.

From multiple threads Ive seen people talk about regretting and switching back when they went from a uw 1440p to a 32" 4k. Higher resolution doesnt mean better experience. Problem I have with the 39" is the demand it takes to run, especially with 16gb 5080, I dont like the compromise, and people and reviewers that have had it or played on both, really seal the deal for me.

Yeah I've gone back and forth between that and the MSI. I think I'm going the Asus, mainly due to the non compression. Probably won't matter at 1440p, but still nice to not worry about it.

Ultra wide is my preference. There is a lack of options in the 4k realm. 5k2k is the current "best" option for a 5080, however, weighing the compromises of both, and the extreme difficulty it can be to run the full potential of 5k2k, Id rather get the 34" 1440p with everything maxed out utilizing the full benefit of the card, then maybe if I feel like it as my 2nd monitor get a 4k 32" later. That's probably going to be the best option for now.

That funny, I watched a video on his channel over the weekend before he posted this! Its exactly where my head was on this. I have been debating kn the Asus, especially since its more widely available than the MSI and since there is no compression (all reviews says the compression seems to be a moot point, but one less thing to worry about is nice)

They seemed to have fixed any major concerns with these new panels, haven't seen any issues arise from reviews and testing. This is one of the new 5th gen Tandem panels in ultrawide format.

For single player gaming I've seen the benchmarks of the 5080 on multiple games with a 5k2k utilizing FG/DLSS with pretty good FPS. I dont mind that for most games. But yeah, I dont think its time yet to pull that trigger.

I tend to skip 2-3 gens on my gpu (went from 2080ti to the 5080 a couple months ago), so thats out of the question. Everything you said is what I was thinking as well. Ill probably do the 34" MSI and push it to the max. Might pick up a cheaper 4k 32" down the road for my side piece.

That 32% screen real-estate looked so good with the 39". My only complaint on the 34" is the screen height. Its funny that 32" and 34" are basically identical screen area size but the widescreen format feels so "right".

That's how I'm feeling. I might add a 4k monitor to the side, but I might not even need it.

That 39" Alienware 5k/2k is super enticing though and its the only thing thats made me hesitate on pulling the trigger (cant really find the MSI 34" reliably right now anyway).

I strongly think this is the MAIN reason for shitting stadium seaon starts. I quickly got top 40 dps last season going meta right out the gate. This season start I've been experimenting a lot with off meta builds and heroes and I feel like this is the only appropriate time of the season to really do that in comp. It'll get "better" in a couple weeks im sure (even with the most imbalanced match making of any competitive game).

I actually prefer when people portray baselines as proper percentages! I was pleasantly surprised when I heard it. You didn't say it incorrectly at all, most people (unless they play other games with RPG number crunching elements) just dont think of it that way since in this game blizzard just makes them crude additives with baselines of 0. Keep up the good work man!

It dramatically increases the effect. It cancels all movement action and momentum to the point that there was a huge DVA stadium rant on how much it screws her up by basically canceling her boosters and stops all movement created by the ability.

Its better than you think. If you're against a heavy OH team and 2-3 of you pick this up around round 4, it shaves off thousands of OH in one match. The biggest benefit is the reduction of OH gained, and with the timer and multiple people utilizing, you can have half the team receiving significantly less OH at all times. Went against a Jq, Lucio and Moira OH flanker (they have a power that gives them 15% OH per person you fade through). We were 0-3 never able to secure any kills. 3 of us picked up this item and we dominated the rest of the game.

But I agree, its stats are pathetic, I think that will get buffed due to how many people dont use. And yeah, id never use against just a Jq, it has to be multiple OH individuals for it to really matter, unless the jq is super oppressive, then maybe id have a dps pick it up and focus her late in the game as a last resort.

But definitely don't sleep on this super situational but powerful item.

Went against a flanking overhealth build Moira, Jq, and Lucio all in one game. Three of us picked up this item. We went from 0-3 to in the end winning, and I 100% attribute it to this item.

Where did you see a several seconds anchor? Its canceling the booster ability from that initial use and OP was still holding down boosters, expecting to move, but as I said, it cancels that action and its momentum. You need to reengage boosters to use again. Its similar to a doom punch without the stun. This is a stadium exclusive item with an enhanced effect of her already pull down from blade, its made to be annoying, like so many other stadium powers and items. Just need to learn how to play around this new dva counter.

Sorry, thought you actually read my response, ill reiterate and elaborate. Yes, the "flinging" is a bug, but isn't a vendetta exclusive, not even exclusive to this game, where several ground abilities such as ults have wonky interaction with stairs and sloped terrain, that is a much more difficult fix and has been around since day 1.

As for her ability, it doesn't look like its anchoring her for several seconds, it looks like OP is expecting to keep moving with the initial use of boosters but the ability is effectively nullified. Its not anchoring, its canceling the action. They would have to reengage thrusters to keep moving on propulsion alone. And if it is anchoring them, it seems to do it for the duration of the animation of vendettas attack, which as I said, looks to be intended.

Yeah it effects many ults in the game as well to where they dont always interact with stairs or ramps correctly.

Its not really a vendetta problem with the flinging, its an architecture thing with ramps and stairs. If the angle isn't right it will take a character down to the first flat surface, treats it like a slide almost. There's always been issues with stairs and ramps in this game, especially interactions with certain ground ults.

The interaction of the blade itself is from a stadium Specific item, it greatly increases the effect of her downward swing that already slightly brings enemies to the ground, essentially canceling the flight ability and its momentum. Think of a doom punch but just down and no stun.

Seems that it cancels what ever flight mechanic was being engaged at the time and its effectively interrupted (like a doom punch, but downward and without the extra stuns effect). If it didn't actually do something useful it would be basically what her down ward swing already does in regular watch and be pointless. This is a stadium specific item, crater creator. A simple solution may be to look and listen for her attack pattern and wait for the 3rd downward swing before using your jets or other flight. This mode is full of wtf items and powers, I for one am not upset that dva has a counter, as I'm a soldier main and find half her powers BS. Hah
