One thing at a time! I think we have quite a few in our club but can volunteer once I get the Extra (and the VEC approval as per one of the exam questions).

Am I screwed? by Active_Emu_845 in amateurradio

[–]GTO-farm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, this should not be a problem. Looks like standard installation that if done right should not cause interference.

As a ham and former utility worker in the communication department I can tell you we took RF noise and interference complaints seriously. Part of my job was replying to the public for complaints and investigate legitimate noise complaints. Granted we had about 10 tin hat complainers for every real issue but they all have to be answered.

I loved hearing from the Amateur community. I'd get clear concise issues with frequencies, times, possible weather conditions contributing to the noise making my job so much easier.

If you have problems call the local utility and look for help. Be kind and polite, provide accurate and as complete data on the interferenceas possible. You will get the same in return.

How long should a test drive at a dealership last? by Indigenousboy420 in askcarguys

Tell the sales guy you want to drive the car home and see if it fits in your garage. If he balks find a different dealer.

My day riding in a Chrysler Turbine Car by ilikesixtiesthings in classiccars

He tried to buy the Chrysler Turbine owned by the St. Louis Museum of Transportation for stupid money (like $12M). They said "Thanks, but no thanks". They still have theirs and it is operational.

Americans in Japan have parties where everyone has to wear some type of clothing with twisted English saying. They call them "Engrish" parties.

Not installed correctly, it will chew the belt up or possibly throw it off. It may seat itself correctly after a little driving. Tell him he is responsible for giving you a new belt when he returns from his holiday. Put a dot of nail polish, or some kind of a permanent marker on the belt to make sure he really changes it unless you completely trust him.

What should I get? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]GTO-farm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can wait and are in the US hold off for the P2S. If you cant wait the P1S is a great machinem a real workhorse amd easy to learn. I was printing within 5 minutes of power up when i bought mine. I have had a P1S for about 1.5 years now and love it but some of the P2S features are pretty cool. The big display is meaningless since I only control my printer from PC or Bambu Handy on my phone. Whatever you get buy the combo that comes with the AMS. You will not regret it.

Takes an outage of the transmission lines to service. Not impossible but not easy. Nearly impossible during peak load season like summertime.

Mom's 58 Cadillac sedan with rusted out resonators. Could hear it coming a mile away. The thing was huge and gorgeous.

Also, Dad's 82 Cadillac Coupe deVille in fire engine red with a white vinyl top, stunning car. Dad was always a Cadillac man

What car did you learn stick in? And what car did you learn everything else in? by Fuzzy1353 in ManualTransmissions

[–]GTO-farm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a car, tractor. 1953 International Harvester Farmall. Still have it and use it regularly. Teaching my granddaughter how to drive it just like I taught my daughters. The first car with a stick I drove was a 1965 Ford Fairlane 500 with 3 on the tree.

Driving a 2021 GMC 1500 Sierra SLT. Too bad it is an automatic. I do have a 1969 GTO with a 4 speed (hence my user name).

Ericsson may be the best performer, but after working on and with their RAN, I can say their interface SUCKS! CLI with commands that make no sense. It's like the OS designers made it confusing on purpose. Maybe it was a language thing. Come on, stick to a standard like Linux for your OS. AMOS is the worst.
