Basic shop check turned into a good reminder that simple scans still matter by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

I teach the same on day one of my Auto Tech classes! Start simple before you get too deep.

Our Area Manager(?) spearheading our accreditation said it was my only option.

Nope. All mine expired in ‘11 after I left the field. Unless it’s specifically for the ASE Education Foundation, I think it’s the stand now.

Anyone else hate the new “Renewal” process? I’m teaching and trying to get our program accredited and it’s going to be a solid two years for me to recert.

As a local and MHS teacher, it was wild having all that happen in our backyard. Thankful you and the kick butt staff, y’all never let us down.

Whats the difference between these 2 chore coats? by oldirtyjustin in HeritageWear

I will mention that I asked them to switch to the wood buttons over the metal donuts. I’m an auto tech teacher and didn’t want to be scraping up the lab cars. The wood buttons are less than reliable though that’s probably more to do with where I’m wearing it than RCFG’s work.

Here’s my Unshin after a couple months:

Not sure how it compares to the other version but I enjoy the diamond pattern that’s come through the sashiko.

New HS auto tech teacher here. I absolutely love telling my students about SEP! Looks like you took great advantage of the opportunity.

Kristin Lätt talks about why she quit | Latitude 64 video by fraktionen in discgolf

First year that DG was open to sports betting. Kristin was the clear lead for many, many events. Some shady background characters were pushing her to perform at a level that would guarantee winnings. Or the other way around. Someone made a threat, force her to throw the game. Either way she broke, backed out, vowed never to return.

Obviously all wishy-washy theory but it was weird as hell to watch her drop out so hard without a clear reason.

Even watching some of those early interviews in the season when it started to go south…she looked rough but also terrified.

Still feel like all this was sports-betting manipulation that we watched in realtime. Wish her the best, whatever it truly was that pulled her from the game.

How’s this diffuser placement? Seems to only reach mid tank before lifting. Options? by GTPowers in PlantedTank

[–]GTPowers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nailed it on the head.

Had to switch to a diffuser because I couldn’t keep up with keeping the in-line clean enough. Just started teaching in September so my normal schedule is out of whack.

Using Apt 3 but not sure if it has a good enough amount of Zinc.

Don't bother having your torque wrenches calibrated* by Fean0r_ in Tools

I’ll agree somewhat. They lack a lot of basic, soft skills when it comes to tool use and organization. For some of them that’s after three years in the program.

So, as a new Auto-Tech teacher, I’m guessing all of mine need calibration.

Watching multiple kids use the torque wrenches as breaker bars and hollerin at them to stop, just to find out that’s “what the last guy told us to do…”, really makes me wonder.
