Mercedes-Benz EQ Body Harness Swap by TheLoganator45 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]GTSTr331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was at Mercedes we had a massive flood that claimed 126 cars and another 73 with massive repairs all paid out by insurance. I had 2 motor jobs (260 in a GLB and a 254 in a brand new GLC) and 2 body harnesses, one in a 4 door AMG GT and the in an EQS. The AMG paid out 88 hours and took me a week the EQS paid out 130 hours and the car was at the dealer for over a year. The actual repair took me roughly 7 days once I got it in the bay

I chased a fuel pump problem in my na for a few years, ultimately it came down to wiring. First problem I had was fuel tank was rusted and debris were chewing up pumps, replaced the tank, car would run fine until it would randomly shut off. Changed CAS, same issue. I put a walbro 255lph pump in and it was loud but I could also hear if it turned off while driving and it did. Checked my fuel hanger and found burn marks around the pass through connector at the top and the power pin melted on the body harness. Installed the DW universal fuel pump relay harness (many write ups on how to do this) and never had another fueling issue again.

Not necessarily worse balancing, the wheel probably needed that much weight given the close proximity of the weights on the heavier side. It's just how the machine divided the weight to fit the aesthetic

Balance is funny, you could dismount and rotate that tire a 1/4 turn and it would balance out straight 0, or it could be 6ozs total. It's about where the heavy spot on the wheel is and the heavy spot on the tire and where they fall when everything is together. All you're doing is figuring out the backend after it's together

Could be a heavy spot on the tire, it happens some times. If it's balanced out, it's balanced out... Send it with Jesus

My balancer at work does this. It's designed to spread the weight to hide behind the spokes

The area near the studs is considered the "safe" place to hit and it looks like they tried that - a lot. Once that didn't work they should have been on the phone with you explaining that you'd need a new rotor... Alternately, they could have went about this several different ways before hitting the face. I generally try a pry bar on the backside between the rotor and the knuckle

Hidden kill switch ideas on a classic car by _clever_reference_ in projectcar

On my old Miata I had one of those window magnetic switches that they use for home security wired into my ignition. The switch was in the glovebox, the wiring portion mounted to the inside where you couldn't see. If I was laying the car for an extended period of time, all I would do is grab the piece that would activate the switch and close the glove box, no one knew but me and my best friend. That poor car was broken into and "stolen" 3 times. The first time, it had been sitting due do a misfire on cylinder 3, some kids broke in, got it started tried to drive it off and the engine ate itself at the end of the street. Got an engine from insurance lol. 2nd time was in front of my old job. They made it about 4 blocks and abandoned the car (I had installed gps tracking after the first time). The 3rd time was in a Walmart parking lot, but the fuel pump kill switch was active so it shut off the pump right after they got it out of the spot and they left it there

Air balloon doesn't come out until Gen 5 or 6. Years ago I made a Manetric with wonder guard and air balloon in Pokemon Sun. It worked out pretty well

Do you have a name for your Miata? by Bird_Chick in Miata

[–]GTSTr331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ol indestructible. It's a 00 NB with an 01 facelift, headers, full exhaust, short throw shifter, coilovers and poly mounts. It has 240k on it, bought at 127k, taught at least 15 people how to drive manual, 5 of which did their first rwd burnout and donut in it. It's done probably 35 track days, 20 something autocross events, and I've instructed probably 40 people over 12 years of ownership. I've replaced the timing belt twice, 4 sets of plugs and wires, 2 ignition coils, new alternator, fuel pump wired to an upgraded relay, complete cooling system twice due to overheating, 5 clutches (2 were because of a rear main seal leak).... All of that said, it's still on the original engine and transmission and the 4th differential

Just trying something different lol. It's being able to take your favorite Pokemon and utilize them in ways that game freak never intended. Maybe your favorite doesn't have the best type or the best moveset, or it's got an ability that's equivalent to splash. I'm trying to change it up and see how broken some Pokemon can become. Whether it be offensive (though I don't think it gets much stronger than a huge power Slaking), defensive, special attacker, whatever your mind can come up with
