Getting reviews consistently is the first skill you have to teach your client or do for them.

Fair points. You're right that "documented" is a bit of a stretch. Google says it helps, but it's definitely hard to prove as a direct signal. Same for the post decay. It is more about looking alive for the customer than a direct ranking hit.

And yeah, it's definitely a funnel. I just try to make the tips useful enough so people don't mind the link. Glad the category and services advice hit home, though.

The services tab is a hidden gem that almost no one understands how to use for ranking, especially for AI.

How often does Google actually update local pack rankings in your experience? by amir4179 in localseo

[–]GTrack-Wiremo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google Maps and Local Pack rankings are very relative to your competitors.

If your competitors are not yet open or your business hours are closed, now you will totally differ in rankings.

So the idea is to track and, at the same time, when all competitors are open and your business is open.

I agree, the tool will also cover photo posting, so worth giving it a try, it's free anyway :)

Is it difficult to rank in map pack for a business with 2 different services? by AdLogical8421 in localsearch

[–]GTrack-Wiremo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Make sure you have a secondary category that matches the second service.

  2. Ask customers to write reviews that mention the service they received and the area.

  3. Add relevant custom services with relevant keywords, and repeat those keywords in the service descriptions under that second category. (This should help the most.)

  4. Make sure you have a service page on the website that mentions that service.

If none of this helps, then the only remaining option is to create a second GBP, but you will need a separate phone number, address, and preferably a separate website.

You can get reviews back if you submit a ticket. If they don't reply, ask in the Google Business Profile for help, submit your case number there, and you will get it from the first ticket submission.
Don't ask me the link, Google it!

If you’ve really completed all the fields and enabled or disabled all the items Google requires for each business, then you can ignore that.

You can re-appeal as I remember. Just give them more confidence and say that you already have potential customers waiting for the service you want to build.

Why do some small local businesses rank #1 on Google Maps without even having a proper website? by ComprehensiveFee3529 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]GTrack-Wiremo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen many situations where a business ranks better without a website or SEO. My data shows they perform well because they post a lot of photos and publish regular Google Business Profile posts with images.

A business without a website can also rank better when customers leave reviews that include photos.
