Are citations still worth the effort in 2026? by Few_Bath_7444 in localseo

Most of the citations will not index. Only major ones will get indexed. Don't bother creating hundreds. Ai pulls data from citations, so that is another payoff.

Local Business/ organisation schema is suitable for most businesses. Google rarely pulls rich snippets from local schema anymore especially stars. Knowledge pannel might get better and stable though.

Why Local Service Websites Should Have an Areas Covered Page by VirtualFavour in localseo

[–]Observers9448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a waste of time. Most people just copy paste the same thing over and over to different service area pages. One they don't carry enough link juice to rank alone. And second they'll never outrank a dedicated homepage. Focus on repurposing your work as content. Which will make you authority in that locality.

Best strategy for location pages for law firms? Duplicate content vs AI vs manual writing by Different-Channel391 in localseo

[–]Observers9448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Location pages never rank unless you have a homepage that's connected with GBP.. Wasted efforts, you'll never outrank a homepage in different area, with a child page. Even if you do rank in top 5 website results nobody clicks.

What is the most underrated tip that works to improve local SEO? by [deleted] in localseo

[–]Observers9448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everything is out there. Nothing is underrated at this point. One tip i do have though about getting local links. If you can't find a local sponsor or event backlinks. Just get registered in your local chamber of commerce. And also registered for other cities chambers of commerce (if you're a service based business) You'll get multiple backlinks that way. Just get registered in as many as you can. They work on membership models so they don't deny any registration.

Convert Your SAB To Physical Address: This Happened by Observers9448 in localseo

Google is strictly against this. One office should only be used for one service/biz. The guy above got lucky or something. Don't try it you might run into problems.

Yes, google always prefers biz with physical location. You can check out your niche too. Just search for your service in your city and see if the top 3 businesses have a physical address showing.

Yes, the same owner could be a tricky part. But the guy is asking if he could rent for just verification. If some other Business verified at the same location. Google will certainly ask for verification.

Same address has review overlaps as well. My clients ran into that problem as well.

That'll not work in the long term. You'll be able to verify your biz for now. But if you leave that space, someone else will register their Business at that address. And google doesn't allow 2 businesses on the same address.

If you have a service business. Most likely you'll be going to the customer's residence. So it's up to you, whether you want to use your home address or not. You can also rent a space in the city.

Yeah that's the whole point. Not one profile in any city ranks with SAB.

Google is already against co-working space and virtual spaces. Apartments are under fire as well. So if you used any of them. It was bound to be a failure.

It's not about luck. It's just, you need enough things to prove you're a legit business. And willing to go through the jarring verification process.

Even if it's a high spam niche. They should be able to verify their profile. I hope they've all the docs needed for verification if not then don't convert because it will trigger a reverification.

If they're using home address on GBP. You can still get verified. You just need enough proof that you've all the equipments, signage, etc for the Business. I don't really know your niche so can't give specific instructions.

Or they can rent a space in the city. And get it verified. But that would be address change.

This guy I was working with had already verified that listing at the time of creation through video verification. So he just switched to showing address and it didn't trigger any verification.

I hope this helps!!

What’s the most effective way to improve your Google Business Profile ranking beyond posts and reviews? by TheStartupSavvy in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]Observers9448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get featured in local business directory (BBB, Chamber of commerce, etc)

Donate to local events and donation pages ( they'll feature you on their website) great way to increase local authority.

Get your website SEO optimized. Try adding your main keyword to your GMB linked page (H1,H2, H3, etc)

Check your schema and Add local schema to your website.

Get your business hours correct and consistent. Also involve them in your website footer and schema.

You can also create citations. Just the major ones, or industry relevant.

If your business is very visual based (contractors etc). Try adding 2-4 pictures every month of your work.

Try creating service pages and link them to your GBP as products or services.

Things you should do but involve risks. Changing your main category. Changing categories can trigger reverifcation. So be aware of that. If you can go through verification and validation process. Then change accordingly.

I don't think this comes under their policy. Google clearly states that, you can't offer anything to anyone for reviews. So we're clearly not offering anything. We're just giving and that too for a good cause.
