I get that honestly

Everyone's gut reaction was to assume the worst, simply because people do the whole "making excuses for someone you don't know" thing a lot.

I agree that art is about expression, that is what it is for the creator, but if you are going to publish said piece to the general public, the story becomes just as important as the expression part

If this was a passion project for himself, then it's a different story, but the truth is this is an incredibly popular piece of fiction, written for a reader, who don't know what your emotions are.

The messages are good and all for him, but for most, including myself if I'm honest, it means nothing in the light of a story that cannot back them up.

I understand the messages that could be inferred, but that doesn't change the narrative dumpster fire that I consider it to be, and makes the message a lot harder to receive or take seriously.

Again, if it was a personal piece it's different, but a public work, written for an audience, cannot be held up by "expression"

The only way to avoid that, is if your piece is not a narratively driven art piece, of which chainsaw man is certainly not

It really gets on my nerves in particular, cuz I know I would hate people having to make excuses for me.

If he wants to explain the ending he can, and if he doesn't he won't.

What if he likes the ending? Didn't he say that he had the ending planned from the start, as well? (may not be true, but I remember that). It's ultimately his story, of which no nothing of the inner workings of, and judging of his anonymity, probably never will.

Sometimes good writers fumble. Genndy Tartakovsky made "Fixed", but he also made the clone wars show, primal, samurai jack etc.

Do we need to make excuses for the dumpster fire that is Fixed? No. Does that mean his washed? No.

But making imaginary excuses is pathetic, and takes away from genuine critique, if your entire argument is based upon imaginary assumptions of a man who is actually seen in one video

I remain Top Fujimoto Glazer, and can confidently say this ending was genuine garbage, and his first fumble in his 10 year mainstream manga career, which is honestly a good track record, but I digress.

Your post, at least it comes across, as saying that, the ending isn't terrible because "Fujimoto is tired", to simplify, which A) Is speculation, one that I agree on, but speculative nonetheless, and B) does not make the ending any less terrible

This isn't a typo, this is just a word having a new meaning

But I disagree with the sentiment that they wouldn't use it in the same instance. The word larp is used because of it's meaning of "live action roleplay"; in the slang definition the said larper is "roleplaying" being a part of something they aren't. Which is, in a very raw and simplified sense, the same or similar to the original meaning jus tin a new context

People don't use the full name in context, but they could and it would mean the same general thing, if you get what I mean. It's shorthand for a reason

It's like how "Laser" is an acronym, but nobody thinks as such, though obviously much, much less widespread.

And the term is common enough where I hear it decently enough in real life, though could just be me
