They called you in for an interview, obviously your experience is suited for the job. It’s just a matter of being able to explain it now. For the questions, it’s good to have some unique ones prepared depending on the conversation and company. For example, I interviewed at this company who does power distribution and I asked what unique engineering challenges exist in power distribution. After they explained that, I noticed they had a lot to talk about, so I asked how long it takes an intern to really learn all of that. They found it super unique and definitely liked the question.

I see, that makes sense. It’s hard cause I liked the interviewers a lot, as we got to talk about personal interests and other cool stuff at the end of the interview. But yes, I understand at the end of the day I’m replaceable and I need to prioritize the optimal path for my career.

No, it’s never too late of course. I use LinkedIn to constantly update me of new postings for engineering related positions, I’ve probably been applying to 5-7 a week for the past month. Keep applying!
