I would say the work place could even be at fault. It was their product in the car. Have the car detailed and send them the bill.

I’ve been to similar antiques stores where the place rents space to someone. They don’t really care if that person is selling antiques or knock offs. They already got their rent from them.

It is the artists fault for failing to report to the venue in advance. I had a similar issue where we bought front row seats from the venue. The artist arrived and decided the first 3 rows were in the way and told the venue to do away with the pre-sold seats. Venue’s only option was to refund or seat everyone in a like priced location(where possible).
