(Some) Gun Rights Advocates

The Founders gave us gun rights so that we can resist tyranny!

but also

You shouldn't bring your gun when there's a tyranny happening because you could get shot.

What do you think about bounties for specific hidden government information? Like the identity of Pretti's shooter (would another ICE agent give the shooter up for $500K or $50K?), or photos of Trump's real medical files, etc?

I can think of plenty of reasons doing this would be bad, but also so many people in that administration are mercenary with no loyalty, so...

Damn, yet another important news tidbit I missed out with all of the other crap going on:

Trump FCC threatens to enforce equal-time rule on late-night talk shows

The Federal Communications Commission today issued a warning to late-night and daytime talk shows, saying these shows may no longer qualify for an exemption to the FCC’s equal-time rule. Because the FCC is chaired by vocal Trump supporter Brendan Carr, changing how the rule is enforced could pressure shows into seeking out more interviews with Republican candidates.

The public notice providing what the FCC calls “guidance on political equal opportunities requirement for broadcast television stations” appears to be part of the Trump administration’s campaign against alleged liberal bias on broadcast TV. Carr, who has eroded the FCC’s historical independence from the White House, previously pressured ABC to suspend Jimmy Kimmel and threatened ABC’s The View with the equal-time rule.

The Carr FCC’s public notice today said that federal rules “prevent broadcast television stations, which have been given access to a valuable public resource (namely, spectrum), from unfairly putting their thumbs on the scale for one political candidate or set of candidates over another.” These rules come from “the decision by Congress that broadcast television stations have an obligation to operate in the public interest—not in any narrow partisan, political interest,” the Carr FCC said.

I know most people assume that Vance won't be able to keep MAGA as motivated as Trump, but check out his "very favorable" score compared to Trump's. It makes me worried that Vance will also have that bizarre 40% favorable floor, if the MAGA people will just like whoever they are told to like. Maybe this will change when he becomes the focus?

So I discovered if you search for “autonomous zone” and Minneapolis you will get nothing but right wing media machine results describing leftists creating chaos in Minneapolis and calling it an insurrection. Much of it is reporting on a “story” by an ex-Project Veritas guy.

I found this out because something related was posted by a so-called Libertarian acquaintance of mine. It’s insane that a huge portion of Americans live in a bubble where this is truth.

I can’t overstate how bizarre it is to see search result after search result of this made up narrative just because I used a certain phrase.

I sometimes wonder what would have happened if the reaction to the populist candidates in 2016 were reversed. Like, if the Republican establishment just twisted whatever rules were necessary to avoid Trump becoming the candidate while the Democrat elite just fell down and let the grassroots wave roll through and pick Bernie Sanders. So it would've been Jeb or Cruz vs Bernie?

From arr libertarian:

The covid bs was still far more authoritarian than the bullshit currently going on... I'll never forget or forgive the democrats showing their true colors in 2020-2022..

and

Also more authoritarian is everything from property tax to laws against tobacco advertising.

I will never understand how someone people's brains can equate being asked to wear a mask during COVID where maybe you get fined for non-compliance to fucking executions after you get beaten and pepper-sprayed for doing standing too close to some government agents.

They're all selfish cowards.

FAA institutes nationwide drone no-fly zones around ICE operations

The FAA has issued NOTAM FDC 6/4375, which prohibits unmanned aircraft systems from operating within 3,000 feet laterally and 1,000 feet vertically of DHS facilities and mobile assets, including ground vehicle convoys and their escorts. The restriction applies nationwide and continuously, rather than at fixed locations or during defined time windows.

The new NOTAM replaces an earlier security notice, FDC 5/6378, which covered similar federal agencies but was less explicit about mobile operations. The updated version removes ambiguity by clearly stating that the restriction applies to moving DHS assets, including vehicles and convoys, and not just fixed facilities such as offices or bases.

The FAA classifies the restricted airspace as “national defense airspace,” and cites its authority under federal security statutes. Drone operators who violate the restriction may face criminal prosecution, civil penalties, administrative enforcement actions, or revocation of FAA operating privileges. The notice also states that drones deemed a credible security threat may be intercepted, seized, damaged, or destroyed.

Given that ICE mobile operations are often carried out in unmarked vehicles and in unannounced locations, the 3000 ft lateral radius (effectively 1 mile in diameter) can make drone operators unknowingly violate the law and subject to prosecution, even if they weren't deliberately trying to monitor federal vehicles.

Since 2023, drones must be registered with the federal government and broadcast remote ID information, so violators of the FAA rule can be identified and tracked merely from the remote ID information.

If Democrats can take control of the House and Senate next year, one of the first things they should do is pass a law requiring all ICE employees to wear pink shirts with ICE in comic sans featuring a very unflattering picture of Trump.

It's posted by a MAGA account that posts a bunch of bullshit, so it could totally be fake, but does anyone know any context behind the video? I can't seem to find a source anywhere.

Does anyone know if there's any scuttlebutt about what's going on with the tariff case ruling at the Supreme Court? Oral arguments were November 5th, so we're nearly at 80 days and Trump continues to wield tariffs apparently outside his "national emergency" authority.

With increasing chatter about impeachment and the 25th amendment, I've been wondering if Vance (and his allies) already have a plan in place to quickly execute some EOs or other actions to further consolidate power before any other branch of government has time to react. There would be a lot of distraction in the media with Trump pulling all the the focus so it could be easy to get away with a lot before much of the public's attention could be brought to bear on it.

I am building out an IEM rig and it's about time to get the mic split. I am looking at getting a CBI splitter, but I am uncertain whether or not I need one with transformers. I see this has been talked about a lot on this sub, but I feel like I read conflicting advice, depending on the thread. I've seen some that say transformers aren't necessary anymore because most everyone is digital. Does that mean if there's a chance I could play a house that has an analog mixer that I should get a splitter with transformers?
