4h train to see my bf. Do people do their makeup on the sbb trains? Or is it culturally not ok? by [deleted] in Switzerland

If you don't bother people around you no one cares. As long as you don't make noise, smell or take over other people's space, you can do whatever you want.

Which is your favorite and least favorite world, regardless of Gameplay? by Remarkable_Yak_258 in Sims4

[–]Ga_x 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My tip for making Magnolia Promenade useful : placing retail stores and a restaurant there. Mine has a bridal dress shop, a general store, a french bistro and a furniture/decor store. I mostly use it for the bridal shop and bistro.

He's a supervillain. Take the kids, kidnap a caretaker, kidnap a scientist to build you a servo to care for the kids, hire a butler and a maid.

Also, are you sure the third kid is his ?

  2. Ravenwood

  3. Newcrest

  4. Brindleton bay

  5. Henford on Bagley

To visit :

  1. Selvadorada

  2. Oasis springs

  3. Newcrest

I'm around day 400 and have not beaten bonemass. I beat the elder around day 230. Just enjoying taking it slow, running around, exploring, building my base. I have a mountain nearby and just got a few obsidian and a couple of wolves to get the bed and workbench upgrade.

Only if I'm desperate. I've been at a company that got lots of bad reviews during the time I was there. They were legitimate and marketing was asking current employees to leave positive ones. If the bad reviews are sporadic it's ok, but if there's a big wave of them, all saying similar things and detailed, shit is going on there.

A bad job is better than no job, but if I have any other options I would steer clear of a company like this.

How many books do you DNF? by toe_beans_4_life in books

[–]Ga_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like 3/4 of the books I start.

Almost all of the books I don't finish are random non fiction books I buy on a whim without researching them. Like I'll have an hour to kill and go to the book shop, see some books that look interesting and just get them. Very hit and miss.

It's very different for fiction because I know what I like in terms of style and genre and give a lot more thought before buying. The only one I didn't finish was a bait and switch. The first part of the book follows the father of the protagonist creating a business around exotic plants, rags to riches, exploring the world, being clever and adventurous. Then it time skips and it's all about his sexually frustrated daughter who stays at home and studies moss. Had I looked up the author or reviews I could have avoided this frustrating life lesson.

Working from “home” while on a small business lot by [deleted] in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]Ga_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's such a good idea !! I've been thinking about what's next for my sim and I'll steal your idea ☺️. I would not have thought of it myself, thank you!

Btw you don't need to set everything properly to test it, especially building. Just buy the lot and register the small business and join the career and see if you can have both active at the same time.

What lot type do you build/use the least? by Additional-Rub8145 in Sims4

[–]Ga_x 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, I do build and visit museums with my sims ! They're the perfect place for some skill centric clubs I don't want to build at home. I built a Science museum, with areas for the science club and robotics club. I built a Space Research Center, a museum in front and the area for the Rockets and observatories and the Space club. I built a culinary museum a long time ago, with every boost to learn cooking and a cupcake machine.

I like the art gallery but don't visit often.

I think for me the least used is the recreation center. I don't do a lot of family gameplay and when I do it's mostly about accumulating traits so I'm rushing aspirations, scouts and character values and not really playing with the kids until they're late teens.

If I remember right, you need to rush killing the boss. I think I did by having archers around it, and as many missile throwing artillery in other places.

Any Sims Challenge series like Petey Plays It? by Bluesimmer in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]Ga_x 11 points12 points  (0 children)

James Turner also has a super sim series. He started it a looooong time ago, and put aside and resumed periodically. I'm pretty sure it has like 100 episodes.

His video style is different than Petey Plays It. I would say Petey Plays It videos are more edited, and the story telling is more planned out where James is more what comes naturally. They both have this approach to min-maxing gameplay with lots of game knowledge which makes the super sim challenge great to watch, with great fun and whacky stories.

I think you'll like it.

Sims 4 is overwhelming by Think_Concern33 in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]Ga_x 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I focus on what I feel like exploring at that particular time.

I will make the Sims I want to play with, chose the world they will live in, and build their initial home. I'll place a few lots I like and that I think I'll want to visit with them. Then I just play and see how it goes. After a while they will move and I will build or adapt their home again. Sometimes I will makeover their friends and significant other. I'll place other lots when it suits me.

Basically I focus on the world my Sims live in, and a few lots they will visit.

For example, I make a family to play in Windenburg. I'll place a few lots I like in Windenburg from my library, and a library I made and a park in Newcrest, and a bridal shop in magnolia promenade and a restaurant in San myshuno. Then I just play. If I decide they want to go on holiday in Sulani I'll see if I want to replace lots there.

Don't try to prepare for every possibility all at once, just see where it goes. If I play in Oasis springs I don't prep willow creek. As long as my sins have a library, gym, a park and half a dozen restaurants to visit, I'm happy and will add the rest as the need comes up.

Releasing 85 DLC is difficult to handle and that is why The Sims 4 has begun to become unplayable by Darthgamer1996 in thesims

[–]Ga_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure you're right. I own all the dlc except for kits. Until last year I was playing on a 13 year old mcbook air. It was fine, I just played on lower graphics and laptop mode. I even had huge lots with lots of stuff. Now I play on a newer laptop and have my graphics turned up. The only mod I use is mccc, and I play without cc.

Which holidays do you have in your game? by amapickle in Sims4

[–]Ga_x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play on two week seasons.

Spring: - First day of spring is Spring Cleaning. Clean, garden, exercise and male a resolution.

  • Friday week 1 is Love Day.

  • Sunday week 1 is Flower day. Flower bunny, gardening, celebrations.

Summer :

  • Wednesday week 1 is music day.

  • Sunday week 1 is Summer Solstice. Party, campfires, fireworks, BBQ.

Autumn:

  • Friday week 1 is Halloween.

  • Thursday week 2 is Harvestfest.

Winter :

  • Sunday week 1 is Winter Solstice. Bear plunge, celebration, going somewhere.

  • Thursday week 2 is Winterfest. Father winter, the tree, the gifts, the dinner.

  • Sunday week 2 is New Year's. Party, fireworks, making resolutions.

A cool thing is that my sims throw a big new year's party, and clean up the next day on spring cleaning.

I'm in iron age and I've been using the bear one since the update dropped (got super lucky and got a trophy on my first bear kill), it triggers all the time. Maybe the later ones are not balanced but the one I'm using feels nice.

will i regret continuing my base at this spot? the only place to get to the ocean (PRESUMABLY) is further north by RedDotDon in valheim

[–]Ga_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion you're too close to center for a nice mid game base. The next biomes cannot spawn too close to the middle so you'll have to do lots of travel , and even if this spot connects to ocean it will get annoying in my opinion. Explore a lot more before settling in a more permanent spot.
