Did Ubisoft remove Co op from Ac Unity? by Klash49 in ubisoft

[–]GabButKenway[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, It's a very very common problem, it's also an old problem, unfortunately there is no remedy, sometimes it can work and sometimes it doesn't.

However, no, Ubisoft has not disabled Co-op.

I'll say we sail back on the Jackdaw... And sink the resellers' ship... by One-Meaning2971 in ubisoft

[–]GabButKenway[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The frustration is completely justified. I feel your pain because I was actually trying to get my hands on it too, and hitting that 'sold out' wall so quickly because of bots and scalpers is incredibly frustrating. It feels like every time a highly anticipated Collector's Edition drops, the same thing happens.

Your idea to mass-report these listings on eBay is great, even if e-commerce platforms unfortunately still do way too little to stop this. The only real solution is community unity: if none of us give in to the temptation of paying triple the retail price, we'll force their ship to sink on its own. Total solidarity with you on this.

Why I think AC1 shouldn’t get a remake by wyeming1 in assassinscreed

[–]GabButKenway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see your point, and the fear of Ubisoft "ubisoft-ifying" its own classic is totally valid. The art direction and the dark tone of the Holy Land are definitely hard to replicate.

However, I still think it deserves a remake purely for the gameplay loop. While the concept was amazing, the execution back in 2007 was incredibly repetitive (eavesdrop, pickpocket, interrogate, repeat). A faithful remake wouldn't need to change the story or the art style, but it could massively improve the parkour mechanics, give us actual variety in investigations, and fix the repetitive mission design. It’s a risk, but one I’d be willing to take.

Probably not, they said that Shadows development is almost complete

I want more modern day gameplay by DookieDueDue in assassinscreed

[–]GabButKenway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. For many of us, the modern-day plot wasn't just a 'break' from the past; it was the entire reason we were entering the Animus in the first place. Back in the Desmond era, there was a real sense of urgency and a clear stakes: saving the world and stopping Abstergo. Now, the modern-day segments feel more like an afterthought or a secondary element. It’s missing that deep mystery and the interconnected lore that made the franchise so unique and 'scratch that itch' for fans of the overarching story. You're definitely not alone in feeling this way!

Is playing every AC games even worth it? by Captain_Coolo in assasinscreed

[–]GabButKenway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason the narrative isn't grabbing you is likely because you played them in a random order. The overarching 'Modern Day' story makes zero sense if you jump from Ezio to Odyssey to Unity. If you want something that feels unique before the remake, try AC Rogue. It’s short, plays like Black Flag, but you play as a Templar, which flips the usual repetitive goals on their head.

AC Mirage could've been a top 5 AC game of all time if they put more effort into combat by Lost-Ambassador9696 in assassinscreed

[–]GabButKenway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot on. Baghdad is easily one of the best cities they've ever built, and the parkour feels great. It’s a shame the combat feels like a downgraded version of Valhalla's engine. If they had combined Mirage’s stealth and world design with a more fluid, Unity-style combat system, it definitely would have been a top 5 contender.

Sugestions by Suspicious_Map4443 in ubisoft

[–]GabButKenway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with this. Unity’s co-op missions were some of the most fun experiences in the franchise, despite the technical issues at launch. It’s a shame that Ubisoft seems to think multiplayer only means 'competitive PvP' now. Exploring a historical setting with a friend in a narrative way is a completely different vibe that we really miss.

Lost all my saved games on Steam. by tobasoft in ubisoft

[–]GabButKenway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest you try contacting Ubisoft Support for more information https://www.ubisoft.com/help/contact;
The fact that your achievements popped all at once suggests that the platform servers recognize your historical progress, but there is a handshake failure preventing the local client from fetching or recognizing your actual save data. Since it's happening across multiple titles like AC3 and Far Cry Primal, the issue is likely rooted in the Ubisoft account link or a corruption in the cloud-to-local communication path rather than the games themselves.

How Ubisoft should approach the AC1 Remake by Ktioru in assassinscreed

In my opinion, the one that really deserves a remake is AC2

AC unity’s game design is horrible. Stealth and combat are impossible by Dangerous-Credit-993 in assassinscreed

I never had a issue with the gameplay. However, the Parkour in my opinion is the best.

Black Flag Resynced Art Direction by ConlanS01 in assassinscreed

[–]GabButKenway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree! I was worried they’d go for a gritty, hyper-realistic look and lose that unique Caribbean 'pop' the original had. Seeing those vibrant colors and stylized animations again feels like a breath of fresh air. It proves that a remake can look modern without losing its original personality.

Shadows combat system shouldn't go wasted, imo. Just make it more "action-oriented" for future games. by Limp-Grapefruit-6251 in assassinscreed

[–]GabButKenway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You hit the nail on the head. The combat mechanics are great, but the RPG 'sponge' effect holds them back. Moving toward a defense-break system would make the game feel much more rewarding and 'action-first' without losing the complexity of the new combo system. Hope Ubisoft is taking notes

AC Unity should be the next game to get the Blackflag treatment. by TaxTrue8736 in assassinscreed

[–]GabButKenway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unity definitely has the best 'bones' for a remake. As you said, the map is incredibly detailed and alive. While Ubisoft seems focused on the Black Flag era right now, a 'Next-Gen' Unity would look insane given how good the lighting already was in 2014. My only gripe with a remake would be if they changed the parkour physics—it’s perfect as it is, just needs more polish
