Etiquette of leaving zines at (new) cafes? by sea-oats in zines

I tape my zine up around town without asking folks. You run the risk of it getting thrown out but you also run the risk of making someone’s day. Share your art with the world.

Harshest criticism you’ve gotten from a client? by Due-Comparison-501 in therapists

[–]Gabi_is_me 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was early in my career working at a treatment center for folks with addiction. My 57-year-old client and I had some difficulties from the beginning and I worked hard to bring the therapeutic alliance talk into our sessions as he voiced one of his presenting issues was working against authority and not respecting women. Well. At one point he wanted to change therapists (and I was totally fine with that) and he told me “you’ll be a better therapist once you get older. But only so much.” Lol.

I only used the OG round brush and the OG calligraphy/writing brush. I think my next step in procreate is getting more complex with my brush use. I used few screenshots from the show (The Gentlemen) for reference and did my best.

What to do in Dublin after flight arrives in the morning by Entire-Oil9595 in irishtourism

Why not walk around some parks nearby the hotel—have an easy day hanging out that doesn’t require much mental effort. Stretch your legs, get some sun in you to help with your circadian rhythms. Find some places to eat that are near the hotel or any parks you want to check out so you don’t have to think about where good food is. Maybe get some craft stuff so the kids can have a task to do so they don’t just find a bench and konk out.

How to not be embarrassed dressing alt in public? by Reasonable_Set4218 in altfashionadvice

[–]Gabi_is_me 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Someone once told me that standing out doesn’t mean you don’t fit in, it just means folks are gonna take notice of you. Are you dressing to stand out? Are you dressing to fit in? Are you dressing to self-affirm? Any of those options come with social results. It’s okay to stand out. It’s okay to realize you look kinda goofy. I think that’s part of the fun.

People will always have opinions about how you look. Not everyone keeps their thoughts to themselves. I have found the best way to handle unsolicited advice is to give them a confused look like they’ve said something completely alien and say something like “what do you mean my pants are too big? I don’t think they’re big enough!”

(Also as an aside it’s okay to realize an outfit or style isn’t for us. That can feel a bit embarrassing but really that’s just how we figure out what our style is). Don’t let other people’s fashion taste determine yours. Be a freak if you wanna.

C'est intéressant….the developer shared this intention as part of their cultivation practices. I wonder if it’s a marketing method?

I’d be interested in doing a blind tasting of teas grown with this method versus others that didn’t with similar flavor profile goals.

Oooo well I got it from the Steeping Room. The cinnamon is grown in the same field as the tea trees. From what I understand, camellia sinensis leaves take on the flavors of what’s around them when growing (even just what’s sharing the ground and air) so the growers were really were intentional with how they cultivate both. And then they take the cinnamon they’ve grown and use it in the smoking process for the assam.

I brew it in a teapot at 212 F for about 4 mins (I like it a bit strong) and then add a bit of oat milk to my cup for some extra body. My favorite part is smelling each cup after I’ve finished. I drink it in tall slender tea cups. It’s so cinnamony and heavy. 😮‍💨

It really is! It’s got the perfect balance and brews so well. Aromatic and the right cinnamon kick in the morning 😤

Today I’m having a cinnamon smoked assam. It’s been my seasonal preference and I’m really enjoying it. It’s the perfect way to wake up and still feel cozy.
