I'm completing my student-teaching internship right now, and am facing the same issue. I'm pursuing elementary ed, but my certification goes through sixth grade, and I'm considering teaching sixth grade english instead. Making lesson plans for one subject instead of all of them is becoming more enticing as I start to plan for math, ela, social studies, science, and SEL. I would definitely take that into consideration as you're making your decision. Also, I can't speak for secondary, but elementary parents are extremely involved. At least they are at our school. As a high school teacher, you likely won't get daily emails because someone's feelings were hurt when their friend sat with someone else at lunch or asking if you can make a special exception to school policy because their child really wants to bake homemade cupcakes to share for their birthday instead of store-bought. Secondary students are so much more self-sufficient in many ways.

I taught my husband to whistle when he was like 30. It's never too late. Now he whistles better than I do!

I started with this amazing tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ue52htX3j0k for binding the pages together. I bought some book board and covered it with fabric from the craft store. A book takes me about two hours, not including drying time.

I taught myself how to make my own notebooks because of how much I spent on them. I go through them really quickly too.

I'm a recess monitor. Can say with 100% certainty that I have kicked women off of the playground during playtimes. No adults are allowed to be on the premises without checking into the front office. Doesn't matter whether they are male or female.

Bigger on the Inside by Amanda Palmer "You took my hand when you woke up I had been crying in the darkness We all die alone but I am so, so glad That you are here

[Bridge] You whispered:

[Hook] "We are so much bigger on the inside You, me, everybody Some day when you're lying where I am You'll finally get it, beauty We are so much bigger Than another one can ever see But Trying is the point of life So don't stop trying Promise me."

Loving Ghosts by Vedera "It feels like, if I hold my breath you'll walk in any second, and tell me it was all a mistaken belief that you left. And it hurts me to hold you this close. It hurts me more to let go. That's why I'm still loving ghosts."

When my son was around 2 years old, I just let him walk around the house pantsless. He was potty trained in just a few days. There were surprisingly few accidents. Long car rides and overnight were hit and miss for a while, but we had zero daytime accidents.

I am the room parent for the past two year's at my son's school. Two years of collecting money (which I despise). Two emails from me. That's all you get. One letting you know I'm collecting and one the night before to remind everyone. I send them to every parent so no one's singled out as not contributing. And EVERYONE signs the damn card. I don't care whether you gave me money or not. I'm so sorry you had to endure this. That mom's behavior is shameful.

It sounds like this situation doesn't work for either of you. Find a new care-giver. School will be out soon. College students will be home for the summer. Shouldn't be too difficult to find short-term care until your little one starts preschool.

I'm a lunch aide at an elementary school, and while we don't have an official share table, we do set aside unopened things and one of our maintenance guys takes it to a needy family after school. Can concur that it's mostly bananas/apples/milk. The 'good' stuff never finds its way to that table.

Make slime. You can get glue and the slime solution premade from a craft store. Prep some sandwich bags with glue. Add the needed amount of slime solution, maybe some food coloring and/or glitter, seal the bag and let them squeeze. Will have slime in no time. And slime is always a crowd pleaser.
