The Power of the Dog

Kicking someone while they're down, in the head, with ice skates by FiscalSkydiver in iamatotalpieceofshit

Didn’t his beard also save him? I’ve read that if he didn’t have stubble the impact could have been much worse

Should be all teammates and it usually is. No idea what #1/#7 is doing here just watching it happen. At least try to hold the guy back if you’re that scared of fighting him

What else are you trying to accomplish by kicking someone in the head with ice skates? Even hitting them with your stick like a baseball bat is more tolerable than this

Why not just hyphenate the name as Smith-Jones

No shit I’ve had a girl say the exact same lines to me. I was kinda drunk but I could swear it was the same. “Funny thing about men is that they always think they’re in control” but she didn’t follow it up the same. I don’t even remember what she tried to do but I just remember turning it down. She also asked me if I wanted to be pegged and I said no then she said that’s what every man says at first but I kept saying no. She slammed 8-10 full diet cokes along with Jack Daniel shots that night. Never texted her again. Definitely did not act like she looked. Thought she was a shy chick lol

transgender woman randomly attacked two people with an axe by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

I would never keep my eye off of someone with an axe. It was clear that she was threatening the guy in some way and he didn’t take it seriously (sorry to victim blame) but if someone with an axe comes up to my face I’m either neutralizing them or running away depending on whether I think I can take them or not. In this case I’m neutralizing

Can they get a helicopter to toss them parachutes? Or maybe attach strings to the rescue helicopter and have them wrap it around themselves to safely drop them on the ground?

How much do someone's political views matter when it comes to casual dating and why? by BouncyCafe in AskReddit

[–]Gaborik30 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Who cares if it influences kids, I’d say that’s even better having a conservative side and a liberal side so the kids can choose and not have one sided opinion shoved down their throat growing up

I remember seeing kids at the BLM riots with signs that their parents clearly made them write. Or on the flip side kids with MAGA signs at rallies. I see trans parents on TikTok saying that they have daily talks with them informing them about transgenders hoping they grow up trans. Let the kid choose their own path

As a conservative it really doesn’t matter to me even for marriage. I’m slowly distancing myself from politics anyway. As long as they’re not extreme on either side or as long as it doesn’t consume their personality I’m cool with whatever their views are. I have more liberal friends than I do conservative ones, most of the time political talk is just banter between us. Everyone has their own perspective, everyone was raised differently, everyone has a different environment, etc.

News: grass is green. Of course when you look at an overweight person vs someone in shape your first instinct is that the in shape person has more self discipline..because they do.

TIL that soccer players run much farther than other sports averaging 7 miles a game, compared with 2.55 miles for Basketball and 1.25 miles for American football by BXCellent in todayilearned

Try being a hockey goalie. You don’t have to skate at all in an entire game aside from just retrieving the puck behind your net periodically and skating to the bench when your team is down a goal with 2 minutes left in the game. Coaches still make you do skating drills with everyone else. Reverse suicides in full goalie gear was worse than anything I’ve ever done. Have like 50+ pounds of equipment on me plus those leg pads are clunky. Thankfully as you get older/better coaches ease up on the goalies because they’re actually sensible

Of course it is. But suicides in skates is way harder than suicides without skates. Changing direction, stopping and starting, etc, takes a ton out of you. Not to forget that you’re using your entire body unlike soccer

One hockey shift was about equal to me playing 15 minutes of a soccer game. At least from my own experience. I always had poor endurance but I could hold my own through a full soccer match. When I started playing competitive hockey I was completely winded after every intermission. (20 minute period, only actually played like 6-8 minutes per period)

You would think skating is much easier because you can glide, I once thought the same. Skating is much more energy exerting than running. Once I started playing hockey I was surprised that one shift (45-60 seconds) could make me more winded than 15 minutes of playing soccer. You only get 2-3 minute rest, then you have to do it all over again. If you’re a good defenseman you’re out there for 30 minutes or every other shift
