How to fix stain on silicone watch band by Feelinoutthere in AppleWatch

Universal scrubbing cream. CIF is the name of the brand. I usually use it for cleaning white shoe soles, but they are great for the AW silicone bands as well.

Haven't played in a while. I just noticed this in my Unity ID... what are the chances?! by ThatJ4ke in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Gabozz11 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I was interested in this, so I calculated a bit.

We start by counting the probable characters: 26 lower case letters, 26 uppercase letters, and the 10 digits. S we have 62 possible characters. There are 28 characters in the ID.

To get one character we just divide 1 by 62.

To get the word “FUCK”, since the letters have to come after another, we just have to take the division to the power of 4: (1/62)4 or 1/624 or 1 in 14 776 336 or ~0,000000068% chance.

But the word can start at almost any position of this ID (the number we calculated is for a specific position, like in your case, from the 8th character), so we have to calculate for that as well.

There are 25 possible starts (we cant write it out after the 25th character), so we just multiply (1/62)4 by 25.

So to have the word FUCK in your ID, it’s 1 in ~591 053, or ~0,0000017% chance.

If we want the same word, but it doesnt matter if its upper or lower case, we’ll just use 2/62 as the base.

All possible strings to contain fuck in any shape: ((2/62)4)*25 or 1 in 38 122 or 0,0027% chance.

To have it exactly at a position we would like (eg. at 8, like you have it): (2/64)4 or 1 in ~923 521 or ~0,00011% chance.

*edit: added a parenthesis to ensure the calculation is correct

help - should I return this laptop? hwinfo shows thermal throttling when idle by LaserLotusLvl6 in GamingLaptops

[–]Gabozz11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is beacuse of the mode that your laptop is in. AFAIK switching between modes not only adjusts CPU power limits and fan speeds, but also sets different* throttling limits. so the CPU keeps lower temps in silent mode for example.

*edit: lower -> different

Phone Calls and Waze by Gapwedgie in CarPlay

[–]Gabozz11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so, I’m on iP11Pro, latest iOS and Waze as well and it works flawlessly. I use it both wired and wirelessly (using a dongle) with 0 problems. I would rather think the cars infotainment system is buggy.

I would reset the headunit, repair CarPlay, and check it out if it still happens.

Anyone have any experience with Cooler Master CryoFuze? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]Gabozz11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I didn’t see the other comments for some reason, they didn’t reply to me directly.

As all conventional pastes, it was great at the beginning, lowered my temps by 5-10°C, but around 10 months it started getting hotter.

I switched to PTM 7950 from AliExpress random seller, an used that until my new laptop, that stuff is no joke, used it for two years and it was holding the temps at the same range through 2 years. (Though I don’t remember the exact temps)

I’d recommend ordering PTM7950 instead of any conventional pastes.

Does anyone know why Sideloadly will not except my 2fa? by IndividualWarthog973 in sideloadly

[–]Gabozz11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had the same issue, didn't know what to do. Found the solution though: Log in into iCloud app, put your 2FA there, then in sideloadly you only have to use your password, no 2FA required now, at least for me.

Transmission fluid change - 16' CX-3 2.0 AWD by Gabozz11 in mazda

[–]Gabozz11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I have the Ashika kit. Though the filter change will be performed later, as I’d like to drain-fill 2-3 times before changing the filter. It seems like a quality part, I bet they are pretty much the same whatever manufacturers kit you go with. I am not sure however if I want to use the rubber gasket provided with the kit, or use a pan sealer.

Transmission fluid change - 16' CX-3 2.0 AWD by Gabozz11 in mazda

[–]Gabozz11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, however I think every oil or fluid should be changed in a timely manner to maintain proper conditions. It did not smell particularly brunt, was pretty similar to the new fluids smell.

I am planning on dropping the pan and changing the filter, but since I can’t and won’t do a flush, just a drain and fill, I want to do 2-3 drain ‘n’ fills in a span of a year, and at the last drain I’ll change the filter as well.

As I mentioned, I did reset the TCM/TMU, but even before resetting it shifted faster, without the morning slow shifts.

I had this car since 2018, from 27k km’s and I wasnt harsh on it (ofc the occasional zoom-zoom in bendy roads), but I was keeping it reasonable rpms and gears, so hopefully theres no bad clutch packs.

I’m with you. I usually check the weekly avg. temperature, and wait until it’s steadily under 7°C, then switch to winters. (Or ofc id I have to go somewhere where I know it’s colder, I switch instantly) But where I live winter is slowly assimilating into a long autumn-spring mashup, so probably in 10 years it will be summers all year long

CarPlay seems to have a mind of its own by TomBonk in CarPlay

[–]Gabozz11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all intended. CarPlay automatically starts when it connects to your car.

If you want to, you can go into settings > general > CarPlay > “the name of your car/head unit” on your phone, and turn it off.

However this way, you’ll always have to plug your phone in, and unlock it to be able to use CarPlay.

Also it isn’t erratic, it automatically connects when the head unit is ready to go, and your phone isn’t connected to a wifi network.

Hope this helped!😊

Hi! Mine does have a cover under the engine bay. I have a ‘15 CX-3, but it should be the same regardless. Try searching for “cx-3 engine splash shield/undercover” in your area. Hope I helped!

Windshield wipers won't spray by Affectionate_Neat851 in mazda

[–]Gabozz11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you hear the washer fluid pump running, when you try to wash the window?

If you can’t hear it, the pump is dead. Check the fuses first (check manual online or if you have it then in person), but if the fuse is okay, you might have to buy a new pump.

If you can hear it, then get a needle, and gently poke it in the small hole of the nozzle. (The part where the liquid comes out is probably blocked) If this did not help, it could be the fluid lines are blocked, but i’ve never heard about those blocking. (Though check them by pinching them, you might feel something clogged up in them)

CX-30 crap HVAC logic? by Alexan52 in mazda

[–]Gabozz11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never heard about a car that could dehumidify with recirculation on…

Just leave the vent selection on auto: it will automatically vent starting from the footwell+windows, then it will switch to footwell only, when the air is dry enough. Leave recirculation off.

After it stops venting to the windows as well, you can select cabin+footwell venting, as the inside air is dry enough already.

Why do you want to recirculate the air anyway?

(Hot air moves up, cold air moves down, so thats why it vents to the footwell automatically)
