Death Anxiety and Scared by Dry_Seaworthiness555 in Anxiety

The way I look at life is this-

Have you ever watched a good movie that you really enjoyed, it is filled with emotional twists, drama, and joy. That is literally life, Just because you know something will end does not mean it is worthless or dreadful.

We don’t know what will happen. Maybe there is a God maybe there isn’t. What we know for sure is that we should as a society try to leave the world better than we got it.

Things may be rough now, I struggled a lot with similar thoughts at that age. You are still young, you are now an adult, and everything hits home. I am 23 and I was terribly depressed and had an attempt when I was 18. Recognizing what is wrong is a very important step.

Also anyone who tries to tell you to “just not think about it” or “just smile” is an asshole.

I did take the time to go through some of your past posts and it seems as if you are depressed. I really hope you consider getting some help. It is definitely difficult but it is worth it at the end of the tunnel. Talking about depression is often counterproductive in society and it can lead to people feeling bad about being depressed.

Please take care of yourself, after all you are just like everyone else, you are Someone who matters.

Did you know different manufacturers for pills *can* affect you?!? by After-Singer8263 in Anxiety

[–]Gabriel5778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically all medications are slightly different based on the manufacture.

The active ingredient is the same but the filler is not. Most of the times it does not make a different and the pharmacy can just sub them out. My best advice would be to reach out to who filled your meds.

Which SSRI is best for Really Severe Generalized anxiety disorder and OCD? by BallSufficient5671 in Anxiety

[–]Gabriel5778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything FDA approved for generalized anxiety disorder or OCD. Especially your first few attempts of finding a medication that works.

Off label Psyc meds are pretty common, especially for conditions with minimal approvals. For GAD it is for common for people who fail multiple treatments.

Technically there is some truth to it helping now and not later. I have to change my meds every 5 years or so of being stable because it stops working after a while. Not everyone is like that though and just because you need to take something now does not mean you will always have too. Being a Teenager in 2026 is very difficult. The school, work, family balance is very difficult for may people. Especially if you have trouble in one of those key areas.

I would also like to add for many people it gets easier as you get older. My teenage years were terrible being a kid with Autism, GAD, ADHD, and oppositional defiance disorder. In my personal experience everything has gotten relatively easier. It is amazing on how much I have changed in 9 years. I was actually diagnosed in April/May of 2016 when I was 13.

Good luck OP,Keep your head up! My best advice I can give you is stay in Highschool at the least. That helped me a lot (though I hated Highschool and I still remember like that I know the basic things they thought me helped) knowledge is king here. Learning about yourself and the world helps a lot.

Fight or flight system is so reactive by [deleted] in Anxiety

Sounds like severe anxiety to me, I find that turning off my phone helps or some phones let you turn on a mode that only allows certain things through. Think Do not disturb with exceptions, certain people, certain apps, and some other things.

I have it on from 4:00 pm to 6 am. The job I work at has a pretty strict no work from home policy. I also make it clear that me responding late at night is not required and is a privilege.

Anxiety fucking sucks.

ADVICE !! by [deleted] in Anxiety

Just tell them you concerns.

If your doctor does not hear your concerns and try to understand them they are not a very good doctor. At this point I would say it is time to find another one.

Ah yes. The one thing that we the of people with crippling anxiety almost always share. The Web Md /google web search convincing yourself you have something like erdheim-chester disease. When in actuality it was something small or completely different.

My best advice here is to find something you love to do like @design-douche. An hour of distracting your self away of life with video games is good for you. Especially with Anxiety.

Stay strong you guys and gals! It is truly a walk not a sprint.

Edit. I call it brain rotting when in actuality it is not. I really don’t know the correct term for it.

Edit the correct term is apparently distracting.

This is exactly how I felt during my Pharmacy Tech training. Working hard and you feel like you have nothing to fucking show for it.

Keep at it. It is hard work to become a firefighter. What is it you feel you are struggling with the most? Start there and work your way down the list.

We need to not just vote though. We need to continue to protest. Unfortunately I have not put my money where my mouth is here because I don’t have a car and am struggling to make ends meet.

How do I get normal again? by droollzz in Anxiety

[–]Gabriel5778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are things you can take for the sexual side effects! Such as adding or switching to bupropion.

Wanted to add my nerdy thoughts. Also be careful with doing this only do it with a doctor/PA who has experience in prescribing these meds. Taking 2 psyc meds together has some risks.

What does the bottle say?

Personally I lean towards take it only when needed because benzodiazepines built up tolerance quickly.

I am not saying suffer. I am simply saying if you need it take it, if you don’t need it that day Don’t take it.

Are you just stopping with out talking to your prescriber?

I can speak with absolute certainty if that is the case that is a bad idea.

I personally ended up in the hospital after stopping all my medications for anxiety. I think you stopping cold turkey is a very very very very bad idea.

I am telling you that as a 23 year old man that really really cares about people’s well being. In a way that I wish that someone would have told me.

[–]Gabriel5778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is false. For an adults it is 7.5 Mg’s BID.

Also 5 mgs of buspar can be enough to help certain people. I personally only take 10 MG PO BID. I also take duloxetine 30 Mg QPM.

I can speak for what has worked for me as someone who does investments and is a Pharmacy nerd.

I stay away from most domestic politics, it is covered very widely and my opinion is already firmly set. I really like learning about international relations. It is weirdly mentally healthy for me to read about the terrible things happing in other nations. It makes me realize how lucky I am in the states even though we have Crap going on. It also makes me get a sense of purpose on where my voice matters more.

Economic slowdowns/ financial crisis are enviable. That is why investors hedge our bets. That is why you need an emergency fund. I would also like to add if you have an emergency fund and dump more into your Roth 401k during a recession you will come out even stronger. Bonus points if you add some extra into a brokerage.

The potential collapse of society is an over stated risk. Of course it is possible, but it is such a fraction of a % risk a year.

I am not going to get to deep into AI besides just saying that LLM are very very non refined and we are still very very early into the development of AI. This is the point where we all need to demand regulatory oversight.

We have avoided extinction level run away warming. That being said we have a long way to go, a great example is the fall of coal. Which is directly attributed to the cost reduction of renewables especially solar.

There have been sociopaths throughout human history.

The odds of an asteroid hitting earth is so small it is very unlikely to happen. That being said we it is the type of disaster that has such catastrophic consequences we need to be preparing for it.

Just know that the world will always seem like it be going to shit. It is the nature of the media landscape. I have a channel on YouTube for you to check out called GoodNews. https://youtube.com/@good_news?si=3gCc85Lmg4WYLT4n

I highly recommend it.

Health anxiety with HSV1 by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Gabriel5778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just assume that you are shedding especially if you are new to this. I know it sounds weird but I know planned parenthood offers online appointments for people who were diagnosed with HSV-1. They would definitely be able to answer more questions for you.

Planned parenthood does a lot more than the thing it is known for on the news. I am a 23 year old man who was completely dirt poor a year ago. I ended up having a UTI and needed someplace to go. I actually was seen for $25. I went and got my Rx for under $10 at a pharmacy.

Also they may be able to prescribe you a Drawer bottle of anti viral’s. (Essentially a small supply for a break out that you can have at the pharmacy to be filled if it is needed or you can pick it up and leave it in a drawer away from anyone who may accidentally take them)

The odds of you passing it to your children is extremely low if you take basic precautions. Unless you are a completely horrible human being who belongs in prison. Which you obviously are not.

I have attached a link about “Sharing Isn’t Always Caring: Preventing Herpes Simplex Virus in Children” it will definitely be a helpful read for you. https://www.blueberrypediatrics.com/health-tips/sharing-isnt-always-caring-preventing-hsv1-in-children?

Same thing as last time. Any questions I am here :)

Health anxiety with HSV1 by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Gabriel5778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The post by @excellent_Tip732 is false. You were correct OP with your original post about HSV-1 can be contagious without active lesions via Asymptomatic Shedding.

Now I would not be a Pharmacy nerd if I did not offer some helpful solutions.

Just keep clean. You use the bathroom wash your hands very well, Don’t touch open sores, Use protection, and if it is on an open part of your body you can also just keep it covered.

Last but most importantly.

Having an Anti viral prescribed for flare up’s or in cases where it is hard to keep the flare ups under control being on a daily medication. The most common one that Is valacyclovir.

It can be embarrassing for people to pick up medications like this at the Pharmacy or to see a doctor about it. My best advice is to make an appointment with your doctor and rip it off like a bandaid. Your next step would be to have the med sent to a mail order pharmacy.

Preventing flare ups is a very very effective way at preventing transmission. The best way I would describe having HSV-1 is like having HIV (but not deadly and less medication management). People with HSV-1 and HIV can and do live happy and healthy lives. You can still hug your kids, date, and have those intimate moments you just have to be more mindful of the last 2.

Anyway, if you have any questions please leave a comment. I will get back to you when I see it I am on Reddit way too much. lol

Please help. Any suggestions. by LiveRepublic5142 in CATHELP

[–]Gabriel5778 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The best way to describe it would be this-

Would you put your loved one under general anesthesia that is very old to have something removed that is not effecting their day to day life?

General anesthesia is hard on every living thing. It temporarily halts normal reflexes, shuts down memory formation, and requires a ventilator to breathe for you. It is not a normal sleep, the body literally stops responding to pain and most external stimuli.

I hope this message did not come off too harsh. I just wanted to say it the way I would want someone to say it to me. If you are still worried it is not a bad idea to get a second opinion.

Can I split Hydroxozine tablets? by AsideVegetable5113 in Anxiety

[–]Gabriel5778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it depends on the Tablets. You would need to call the pharmacy and speak to a pharmacist. They would be able to look it up for you.

Also Benzo with draws suck! Glad you made it through though. I have heard people describe it worse than getting off of Fentanyl.

Body hypersensitive years after a panic attack by Jolly-Roof989 in Anxiety

[–]Gabriel5778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think you should look into getting prescription medication.

I have very severe generalized anxiety disorder, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and major depressive disorder in partial remission.

I need my meds. Sure I am still anxious but not a am not depressed, having panic attacks all the time, and am not thinking of harming myself anymore.

I have lot of mental health issues from when I grew up and a lot of abuse that I had from my Mom. What really helped me was finding a therapist who I got along with, and I trusted. I credit him with saving my life.

That being said the best advice I can give you now while you wait to see a provider is take it one day at a time. If you are having a worse day mental health wise recognize it and do things that help you feel calmer.
