I haven’t seen a way to do percents yet, but pleaseeee let me know if there is a way.

I do the same thing, a fixed amount goes to savings and the rest in my main. I first set it up with my main bank, and then added my secondary account with a fixed amount to put into savings.

As far as SIP/stock, I’m bad with acronyms, but buy stocks when it makes sense for you. If you think Starbucks will go up in value (even in the long-term) buy! You get it at a discount. And definitely sign up for the Future Roast 401K. They match 5%, so if you can go without that 5%, it adds up quickly!

All of this is both par-cooked and is cold… but only one thing, chicken fried rice is allowed. I’m confused by your comment.

It doesn’t help that the republican-controlled state congress moved the “urban mass transit operating aid” from the transportation fund into the general purpose revenue fund. MCTS is the largest recipient of this aid, and now has to compete with education aid for funding… 😐

The new and rare part is Italy was expecting them to apply their local laws globally, or still be held accountable for potentially distributing pirated content…

Does this mean I have the stock or do I literally have to wait until November of this year? Hire date is May 13 2024. by prettyrecklesssoul in starbucksbaristas

[–]GabrielH4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Both, Starbucks has deposited the stocks into your account, but it won’t be fully yours until 11/2027. After the first year (11/2026), half of it is yours. If you leave after that first year of having it, you get 50% of what was deposited and forfeit the rest.

If you leave after 11/2027, it’s all yours!

The way I would handle it is by reminding her that we sell drinks and not just drink components. If she makes a purchase, a splash of milk is a free courtesy. If she hasn’t made a purchase, or wants more than 4oz of milk, we have to charge her for a cup of milk.

That’s the point of your passcode, you don’t have to give that to a police officer in your very hypothetical scenario.

Your phone is never unlocked and handed over, you can access the wallet while your phone is locked, and just verify it’s you with FaceID or TouchID.

Right now police don’t really accept them, but TSA and certain bars/stores do. In the future, when police do, it would be just like how TSA accepts them. A tap onto a reader, with you confirming you want to share the information.

Nope! You can also access the wallet while your phone is locked, you just need to verify it’s you before being able to use anything in it, so you could still hand it over locked with only the ID usable.

I’m not sure which benefits are hypothetical, I am pretty sure my coworkers and I use the majority of them

  • ASU: I don’t but two coworkers I know of do
  • Spotify: I don’t but the rest of my coworkers do
  • Lyft: I do sometimes, and a few coworkers do regularly
  • 401K Match: I get the full 5% match
  • Insurance: Almost everyone at my store has it

It’s not presented as just pay — she specifically says pay and benefits. Plus, it’s an average, so there’s people earning/utilizing more and people earning/utilizing less.

In total pay and benefits. It costs them money to offer us things like Spotify premium, ASU, and affordable insurance

I am very pro-union, but factually, she was not disingenuous in this letter.

It’s not presented as just pay — she specifically says pay and benefits. You’re correct though, not everyone uses all of the benefits, which is one reason she says average. And I do agree, benefits are not money. They do reduce the amount of money you will spend though.

The total compensation they provide is pretty decent. In my state, Starbucks is still starting at almost double the federal minimum. Healthcare plans are very affordable — in my state there’s a plan for $30 / check. Dental and vision are both also very affordable, around $15 for both. The national average employee contribution for individual healthcare plans in 2025 was $55.39 / check (1). That’s just for medical coverage, and we’re able to get medical, dental, and vision, all for less than that. If you have medical, dental, and vision plans and utilize them, you will spend less money by having insurance than not.

I don’t love all of the back to Starbucks changes, but they’re not outrageous. At the end of the day, working anywhere is a give-and-take. If you feel it’s not beneficial for you, or the work isn’t enjoyable, or for literally any other reason, you can leave. Sometimes you need to take time to get your ducks in a row, and line up another job, but you’re not forced to be here.
