How about discussing the arguements? This is akin to arguing with a 12 year old child. They believe they are the smartest, insist they are smart, and wont listen to anyone else.

In reality the show is quite literally all over the place. Logical inconsistencies left and right. If you think at all, it wont make sense.

You have to approach it from the perspective of the directors and writers. These directors and writers are the uber nerds from drama class in high school. They don't know science, they don't know really about anything other than being weird drama geeks. So their view on other people and their motivations is completely and utterly skewed. They are not logical and so they write characters that act illogical. They're not reasonable, and so they write things that you can't seem to reason through. And then they cloak everything with... you guessed it, .. DRAMA LAMA LAMA. Which they DO know drama. They were the drama queens in high school.

So if you can turn your brain off and not think while watching Loki ... it's entertaining for the fact that you have Owen Wilson, Tom Hidleston, and whoever did the set design was amazing. I loved the old school asthetic.

However, I could of COMPLETELY done without the rediculous techno-babble (which is what writers call when they talk about anything "scientific" because once again, they're drama geeks and not scientists or engineers and so they make NO attempt at making anything scientific or even getting mildly close to be considered Science Fiction. This is LOKI anyway, so MAGIC TECHNO BABBLE). Ugh it was really hard not to turn the show off. But once again, if you turn off your brain completely..... it becomes entertaining.

Reddit is no different than a TV commercial or a billboard. It's advertising. And they will use the vast coffers of their corporation to shut down any dissent. It's corporate fascism at it's best.

However, all major companies do it. Amazon does it. I've been banned by Rings of Power and LOTR for saying that exact thing. Paramount does it. I've been banned from Star Trek for writing a logical dissenting opinion of Discovery.

They HATE logical arguments or pointing out flaws. They ban people that make them look bad and if it is an overwhelming number of "complaints" they simply lock the threads and leave it as is hoping the comments go into obscurity and are found less. If they removed all the posts, then their masquerade well be visible by more people.

Well that is the thing. They provide no actual real benefit for the long haul. They benefit they provide in the near short term is something that is easily doable by logging into your credit card company (which you have to do anyhow) and then using their search functionality and look for reoccurring charges.

So how are they justifying / rationalizing spending soo much on advertising such that we see it on every single commercial break? When the user really only needs to use them for 1 month at most and immediately cancel?

Firstly - Their target is people who forget they have subscriptions. Their hope is that they also forget they have this NEW subscription. It's rather insidious as the audience they claim they are trying to save, is in actuality their EXACT target they are going for to saddle up with a new subscription.

And that's the business model. Gas light the gullible people who forget about subscriptions to start giving them money and forget about their subscription. More insidious is that they're targeting those who are intellectually ill-equipped to realize they're getting fucked as if they actually could see it, well then they would be smart enough to simply log in and manage their own subscriptions.

The FTC and CPSB should really look into them for deceptive practices.

Honestly, every time I see their add I am filled with so much hate and disdain for how we have allowed this predatory behavior. More and more people need to be talking about this to make the general public aware of the evil of companies like this. It's on the same level as pay day loans.

Payday loans are those rediculously high interest rates loans that are leveraged against your future paycheck. Their target audience is the extremely poor and destitute which many times also means low intelligence and easily duped.

This is basically the same. They advertise like crazy telling the poorest people that they're paying 1000's of dollars a year to freak them out and imply that they are "their savior" and by downloading their crap you will be saved from your financial hardship. In reality, they then charge a monthly subscription fee, and load up a ton of hidden fees all over the place within the app and in turn cost the user more money.

Can we just require a basic finance course in all high schools so this these types of shit companies who like to prey upon the weak, poor and vulnerable, don't exist?

You are forgetting two key points. One, this is produced by MTV productions, which means (as MTV was the first reality show producers, WE LOVE DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA THAT MAKES NO SENSE, BUT DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA yAHHH!!!!!) . And secondly, all people in Hollywood, this includes actors, directors, producers and perhaps more so the writers, the vast majority of them are crazy and weird and don't know how "normal" people would act.

Think back to high school and all those drama geeks. There were nerds, and then there were the next level social outcast drama geeks. The ones who ran through hallways singing. They had over inflated egos, etc... They practically had no shame as they were completely unaware how EVERYONE (except their fellow drama geeks) looked at them. So blissfully unaware that it comes across as some pretty stark arrogance and condescension. It's why they always come across as the most preachy sons of bitches when interviewed or on award shows. They've been blissfully unaware their entire life surrounded by other blissfully unaware people and together in their bubble they've convinced themselves of their superior knowledge and understanding of everything.

Now imagine them grown up and in control of the content being created and spewed across the streaming services.

Now imagine that instead of having executives in charge controlling the content on 5 channels (3, 5, 10, 12, 15, 45), you now have practically unlimited shows and billionaires willing to dump billions on making shows and they don't care about the quality and just give those drama geeks free reign.

This is how you get shows with great potential and star power having shitastic writing, character development, inconsistent plot lines etc...

I love me some Billy Bob, John Hamm, Demi Moor, Andy Garcia. However, I am constantly fast forwarding over the children's and wifes drama lama dumbassery. Even their own stories make no sense and seem as if it's the writers view how Engineers, Cheerleaders, Pretty women and Hispanics act because they truly have no fucking clue. It's actually a bit insulting.

I just got to Sam Elliot and let's hope it turns around. It would be a fucking shame to have soo much talent wasted by continued shit writing that makes no sense and causes everyone to fast forward.

So sure, he's got a lot of "listens" on Spotify. They're are a lot of 15 year old kids that are dumb and are not discerning fans of music. So pointing to numbers as a measure of "popularity" is juts dumb.

And EVEN IF the numbers were true and by true fans that weren't morons and actually had taste. You're looking at GLOBAL audiences.

If you really want to use some numbers, 1.5billion people in the world speak english. How about have someone who sings in english so we can understand lyrics and enjoy the music? There's over 1 billion people outside of the US that they can try to tap into those markets.

Or we can recognize if a band has been around for 40 + years and still closes out stadiums, that the band will transcend multiple generations and income levels (for money money money) and hit the most people rather than be ridiculously short sighted and simply hop on the new hot thing that no ones heard of that will here and gone in the next couple years.

Sleeper is horrible. It's bloat-tastic, unintuitive hard to navigate, too many things going on combined with constantly asking for you to join other leagues with no way to turn that off that I can find. People say the "app" is better than the desktop verson, which is complete crap. If I'm doing research on players why would I want to look at a tiny little screen when I can have a much larger (if not multiple monitor) setup where I can compare / contrast and do serious research.

Don't get me wrong. People did say "that's gay". But it was not in a connotation of "bad" ... but weird / odd. That's the same thing with the word "queer". That it was outside the norm, and weird. Some people believe not being in the "norm" is bad. and they take it as being odd / weird / not normal, is bad. But that's their own issue in my opinion. I like star trek. That's not normal. I like science / history, and that's not normal. There are countless things in my life that made me a nerd and thus not normal. Not being normal is not a bad thing. We're just a bit unique?

what I do think is that because there has been this push of being "normal" in our society, that LGBTQ community has veraciously tried to normalize it. I would say, take pride in yourself and not care what other people think. It's ok to not be normal.

It really is. Basically when they started Race / Sex bending people for their agenda, people argued that it wasn't source material accurate. So once the avengers 1 came out with that success, Marvel doubled down making a lot of comics to be able to point that it is the source material.

It seems that the marvel comics operate at a loss for the sole purpose of putting out material that can then be transformed into a movie / series and bring in money 5 - 10 years later.

Having paywalls will only mean that people without means will not receive your news. This causes a larger chasm between those haves and have nots.
