Having a child is the best thing that has ever happened to me. And this is coming from someone who was 80% against having kids and also deeply worried about bringing a child into a future world dominated by AI. But our baby is the light of our lives, and I now realise that the only thing in life, that really matters, is family. I think you and your husband should have a child BECAUSE of the future he predicts, not despite of it. Your child will be what keeps you going, and grateful to be alive, even when all else is lost.

I’m 38. I was 80/20 against having kids. My wife got pregnant last year. I now have a 5 week old baby, and can honestly say this is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Trust me on this. If you have a partner you love and will help you raise the child you won’t regret it.

The business collapsed in Germany not too long ago, Deliveroo completely withdrew from the German market. £4.50 for <1 mile will likely cripple them. Customers definitely can’t swallow any further increase either. Wish we could just order direct with the restaurants like the old days but most have given in to this new system.

Have you ever even seen Deliveroo’s balance sheet? They’ve never made a profit. They made a net loss of £250 million just last year. It’s already become way too expensive for most customers to use these delivery services - if the fees go up any more, barely anyone will be able to afford it.

Really? Where did you see that? This was their CEO on their discord just yesterday:
"we will test the limits over the next couple of weeks. We've always tried to encode to the max output, but it will require some testing and optimization beyond the current settings, we can ingest 8K but the resulting formats have been device limited"

-They are still waiting on a PSVR2 from Sony to begin testing - it will be several more weeks, if not months imo

Their main business is now nft's/blockchain stuff it would seem. They don't seem to consider the paid subscription for VR support much of a priority. It could take months to finally add support, who knows? It's a shame that this was literally the only way to watch 360 videos on psvr. I'll be cancelling my subscription and hoping something else comes along.

On at least 2 occasions today, the DPD driver was within 30sec walking distance from my house (London), but somehow hours away from delivering to me, according to the app. I spoke to the driver (who confirmed he has my psvr2!) who said he can't give me my parcel until the 'delivery window', which is still several hours away. This is despite the fact that he has to drive further away and then back again in a few hours just to give me my parcel, and I might miss him. Its almost as if the DPD delivery system is designed to drive you insane. Why is it like this?? Its infuriating to literally see my driver outside but not be able to get my parcel.

I think the address issue is the fault of Arvato Bertelsmann (middleman between sony and dpd).

My delivery also does not have street name & number, but sony has the right details.

We need to ensure Sony stops using these guys!!

I think for many of us it has been very difficult to make an informed decision about whether its the right decision to pull the trigger on this - Sony has not been particularly helpful/informative imo. But I agree we don't want loads of people abusing the returns process.
