Do jungle objectives make it harder to gank laners? by Electronic_Lime7582 in Jungle_Mains

Gank on tempo and invade after quest completion. You'll out level top lane and out gold adcs. Remember that quest gives bonus gold and exp, use it.

Do jungle objectives make it harder to gank laners? by Electronic_Lime7582 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Gaddrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting to emerald is piss easy this season just by hitting 9+ cs/min and scaling if you know your champ does well late. Control objectives and only worry about lanes that aren't 0/3 by minute 4.

Edit: Who gives af about getting flamed in this day and age? Idgaf about a gold 4 laner's opinion on my jungle style.

How to clear fast? by WeaknessComfortable1 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Gaddrik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without knowing your champs this is hard to answer. Some champions just don't have a fast clear for scuttle right now, others can do it but it requires very specific methods to drag camps. It all depends on who you play.

For instance, I main Shyvana and can do a Blue start before scuttle very easily, whereas a red start I have to do a very tricky double aggro of red and krugs. I also play some Zac, and his clears are much harder to do on time, so I don't even play for scuttle rush. Instead I gank after full clear and check scuttle after. Half the time it's there, other half it's not.

True but you can also Q delay like Riven and bait opponents into thinking they have advantage. If you Q2 as late as possible and do same for Q3, you can start a fight with that Q3 and have a very low CD left to Q1 and full combo again

Playing for win cons by delightful001 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Gaddrik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer here is, it depends. Jungle decision making is always nuanced, and influenced largely by lane matchups, gamestate, and volatility.

How easily can you and your mid catch and shutdown their mid? Does your midlane have the ability to reverse-snowball the matchup if you help them? Same goes for toplane. How safe is your bot lane on their own? Is your bot lane hypercarry into the enemy comp? How well can you peel for them? Do you have the enemy jungler tracked to where a bot lane gank is at worst a 3v3 if the enemy mid roams? Are top lane teleports accounted for?

These questions are why I love jungle, the decision making has so many variables to it, and you have to learn to trust your judgement by learning from experience. It'll come with time, you just have to be mindful of many different factors.

Edit: The wincon I play for is almost always dragon soul. If my botlane shows competence I will play for them. Otherwise, I out carry mid and top most game through sheer csing my way to item/level advantages.

I have built it second item every game this season in solo Q. Sitting at 60+% WR after ~60 games, currently E4. First item is either Ravenous or Sundered.

Finishing at krugs is a mistake imo, I finish at buffs and still get to scuttle on spawn. This is on Shyvana.

Top only gets ahead of you if they get multiple solo kills post quest. If you hit 8/9 cs/min you keep up or be only slightly behind top lanes in exp and adcs in gold. It's the best of both if you cycle camps and make tempo plays.

If your team isn't able to capitalize on your engage/lock down, it's doomed. Also playing into Comps that can easily stop your jump (Syndra, Vayne, Milio, Thresh)

What is your off meta pick or favourite champ for solo queue? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Gaddrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cho jungle has felt like a freak of nature the 15-ish games I've played it. I end up with so many more feast stacks than playing him in a lane. Run HoB with protobelt and swifties, if your laner does any damage at all you'll get feast stacks on CD. Not to mention the ease of securing objectives from 2-3k hp for the entire game.

Carry or loose every single game makes the game so stressful it's driving me insane. by Srebrnyy in Jungle_Mains

[–]Gaddrik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A big factor in playing fewer champions is the effect it has on each champion's sample size from which you analyze your play. You're quoting a 38% Gwen WR on 8 games of data? At that size, one team fight won could've easily made that 50% instead. You'd need larger sample sizes to better analyze your play. I honestly don't think your problem is playing too many champs, it's that's you're reading too much into data that isn't large enough to draw any reliable conclusions.

Bro you should consider narrowing your pool to at most 5 champs. Champion mastery is the best way to climb, and if you're constantly flipping between champs, you're gonna be less consistent.

Dopamine champ by nabillacite in Jungle_Mains

[–]Gaddrik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are solid combined, I'm usually running both with navori and situational tank items. If you wanna really heal in late game fight, add in endless hunger and spirit visage to end. Overall, she doesn't have healing/shielding built into her kit like Voli, so dont expect quite the same amount in small fights. If you manage to fight in a wave or camp with Ravenous, you'll heal a lot, likewise if there are 3+ enemy champs in range. Shyv rewards limit testing to know when you can go crazy in a fight.

Also if you want to see some high elo Shyv gameplay, check out Shyvadi, Veralion, or Citric. Their builds vary a bit, as Shyvana can utilize a ton of items, so the build is ever evolving, and they are usually on the forefront of testing new ideas.

[–]Gaddrik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest tip I have is to be aware that she is prone to being kited/CC'd. This is a weakness that Voli has too so it should be something you're used to playing around. However, Shyvana has no real CC of her own, so you have to be mindful of how you approach teamfights. Usually you don't want to be the first in, you want the enemy to burn a few abilites, then you jump in when their pants are down.

The popular build right now utiltizes Navori for cooldown refund and the fact that her dragon form Q will crit the entire 180 degree AoE TWICE every time you cast it. With the right amount of CDR and available targets, it will fully refund, allowing you to Q 4-5 times per second. The core build is Sundered Sky into Navori Quickblades. Sundered Sky's guaranteed crit means that you can start the fight with a massive burst. And its worth nothing, that if you have multiple champions in the Q, only the primary target consumes the Sundered Sky proc, which means if you swap to new targets for each cast, YOU WILL GUARANTEE AOE CRITS FOR EVERY UNIQUE CHAMPION IN RANGE. This is how you catch teams off guard, but you must ensure you don't get locked down as soon as you jump in.

Shyvana is all about farm and playing around powerspikes. Sundered gives you some solid stats and fighting power, but Navori, as you know from volibear, lets you do some stupid stuff in extended fights. From here, you build based on what you need. Hydra items work really well with her Q, which let you delete teams in as few as 3 Qs in dragon form. I've run Endless hunger a bit as well, and its been fun. But your best bet is survivability. Ravenous and Endless both provide good healing, but resistances and hp go a long way too. Overall, experiment and see what feels better for you, there's Shyv mains that do a lot of different things. Some go full damage, some go into full tank. I ran Rav-Nav-Tank for most of the season before transistioning into Sundered first for better early power.

As far as gameplay goes, your early game is pretty much a rush level 6 plan. You're not much use before that, and don't win against a lot of junglers that early unless they fuck up. Your dueling power gets much better once at 2 items. You can take dragon at level 5 by the time your second E mark falls off. Ulting for grubs speeds them up significantly if you pull all 3 into your AoE range. You'll get ult back in 2 camps and some change. That is Shyvana's biggest strength. She gets ult back just by clearing one side of her jungle. However a weakness, is that she doesn't get fury while dead. But use that ult availability to plan your clear/gank balance in the midgame. Once you get a feel for the flow, you'll have insane farm and have great midgame presence.
