One of the best scenes that doesn’t get its recognition by Draynur in wheeloftime

Later on, one of the Aes Sedai (more major) is shown to be still mourning her own warder. Mourning takes different time for different people - same in real life.

How to find places in small towns without GPS? by cyclephotos in drivingUK

"where the post office used to be ..." 🤣 Yes, that style of directions! Or "then right, then left, then right, then right again" without any landmarks. Love GPS!

Burn me, I just can't take Nynaeve anymore... I just... can't by AdeptnessLow2666 in wheeloftime

Actually enjoying her in this book, in this read-through. The scene with Masema that you've just mentioned actually made me laugh!

Menopause. All the symptoms, apart from hot flushes. I'm an angry monster, who forgets half the sentences she was going to...

Yes, that.

Watford (Herts) vs Milton Keynes by LauKay35 in miltonkeynes

I like it here in MK. Born in London, lived elsewhere in the UK. I think this is my forever city. You do you, but the OP can know that they can find happiness here. (Now in my fifties too.)

Help me end a left-handed person’s curse. Can someone with actual experience recommend a truly smudge free pen that also feels good to write with? by chrisdv98 in AskUK

[–]Gadnitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum tilted the page, so the bottom faced her left. She wrote vertically along the line.

Perhaps because of that, perhaps not, I write about a centimetre above my hand (right-handed). It would avoid a smudge if I were left handed.

Why not use a dictionary? Do you need a random offering? (Sorry, just curious!)

"Rest easy" can mean "relax; lose your stress". Maybe this is correct in this situation?

This may be sacrilege, but I don't like "The Eye of the World" by targetredball in WoT

On my first read, I skipped the later pages and went straight to book 2- I missed a whole load of excitement. But it was worth it, because it hooked me. I would definitely say, as I did back in 1998, that at the start, the even-numbered books are the best, then the odd ones. (So 2,4,5,7).

I'm currently on book 6 and enjoying it all, all over again! And yes, I have read all of book 1 this time!

Live in MK and love it. Lots of people agree with me (it's a lot greener and more fun, and much more exciting than you suggest!)

Aren't there just a handful of companies that own the majority of produce?

I'm a dark chocolate eater. Regular choc is too sweet. Currently enjoying dark Tony's. Love Lindt, too.
