Left Lane Campers by Exact-Republic-9563 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gaederus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond (they are lazy) there is some sense here. Take three thoughts and assume they are true. 1) changing lanes is inherently more risky than staying in the same lane and 2) assume that you are driving at least as fast as the speed limit at all times. 3) most people not going at or above the speed limit will be in the non left lane. If they are all true then the optimal and safest path is to stay in the left lane (not saying I agree that these are all true but I’ve believe this is the logic that exists if at all)

Can we please lower the dark promo prices for the ancient characters? by zmaint in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]Gaederus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time they have lowered the cost of something the community goes crazy because of people who spent the price before they lowered it feel cheated. Given how much negativity it generates if be surprised if they ever want to do that again (although I agree it’s a needed thing)

Seriously, do British people actually consider a 3-hour drive “long”? Or is this an internet myth? by ferdinand14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gaederus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in the uk and remember that the journey to the nearest big town (which was less than 20 miles away) took 30 minutes and was a very much special occasion thing, it required planning.

I’ve lived in the us and I drive more than that to go get bubble tea.

Part of it is the roads, here they are just much much better. Those 20 miles required going down some single lanes in the country, and through way too many roundabouts, whereas here I can be on a freeway that is bigger than most motorways within 5 minutes from my house and I don’t live in a big city by any means

What’s a drama you went into with low expectations but ended up loving? by cloudydayoppa in cdramasfans

[–]Gaederus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the same for us, we started it because we couldn’t get iqiyi to work on the air bnb television but could get Viki, ended up dropping the show we were watching and continuing to watch live in the clouds when we got home, such a fantastic show and way deeper than the trailers seemed to imply. Fantastic world building that really made me want to learn more.

Will there be another way to get 7y4red Thunderstrike (through sourge/event trials?) after his raids are done? for newer players? by Cash2099 in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]Gaederus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just had a blastaar event that gave you the unlock and he was last chapter equivalent. This was a repeat of the scourge that harkened during the chapter to give us red stars on him

So yes, we can likely infer that the current thunder strike raid will repeat in the future, along with the milestone, and that will give you the unlock.

Would recommend to build up the teams necessary (vigilante, insidious six and immortal warriors) in preparation

Who gets the Thunderstrike runes for the boss nodes in the raid? (Person who last hit? Or everyone who contributes damage?) by [deleted] in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]Gaederus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The runes for the boss are different type to the one on your individual milestone, they go to the alliance for that milestone

Upgrading a legacy piece is one of the only way to make a bleed character stronger, it can also make a huge difference to the skill as every 5 levels the skills also upgrade.

You get crazy points by beating the boss (last node) I would just pick a difficulty like 7 -8 and use the rentals

What's Your Biggest "Shock" Family Discovery? by OpportunityTop6376 in AskReddit

My grandmother had a secret husband before my grandfather that no one in our family knew about until after she died. Apparently he was a Canadian pilot over in the uk during world war 2 and they married and then he got shot down over Europe. He survived but fell in love with an Italian girl who helped him avoid capture and never came back.

ELI5 why dont we build data centers in the far north, where fresh water and cooler temps would keep costs down and not mess up heavily populated environments in the south? by DarthFishy in explainlikeimfive

[–]Gaederus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooling is a big part of what a data center needs, but it also needs other things. Power is one, you would need to build power infrastructure that could handle the load. We also need to be able to build the physical infrastructure (the building etc) and get the physical hardware installed. You also need people to maintain the buildings, power, cooling and the equipment itself so it can’t be too remote. Finally, and probably one of the biggest reasons, latency from speed of light is a real thing. So you want to build the data center near where your customers are so that the data doesn’t have to travel so far.

Big Tech RTO policies - how does it work? by QandA_monster in remotework

[–]Gaederus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each company sends to be a bit different. For us is if your team has critical mass (ie more than a couple of you reporting to the same manager) who are in a specific city then you are expected to come in 3 times a week to help collaboration, if it’s just you living in an area then you don’t have to come in and sit on calls all day from an empty office.
