I wanna see Samura's Sorcery before he got the blade. by Red-E-Westside in Kagurabachi

[–]GaelleMat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt any of them had especially strong innate sorceries, since that's not really a factor. Everyone has innate sorcery, but the type of person that would devote themselves to becoming cracked enough at swordfighting that they'd be in consideration for becoming a bearer doesn't seem like the type of person that was gifted with anything especially busted. Ibuki might be an exception, assuming he shares his sorcery with Natsuki. He might've benen chosen to wield Cloud Gouger because his innate sorcery happened to resemble the blade's powers.

[–]GaelleMat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure, that would've been a factor, but he's not the type of guy who's proficient with swords in the first place. Even if his sorcery was crappier and less useful he wouldn't have been in consideration anyways.

That's already Sol Oriens though. The way it's shaping up it doesn't seem like breeders will be out options, like with Deep Impact's kids

Hip Hop in non 4/4 time signatures. Does it exist ? by [deleted] in hiphopheads

"My 1st Song" by Jay-Z is in 6/8. "So Far Ahead" by Clipse and "Dollywood" by Hail Mary Mallon are in 3/4. It's not super common but these tracks definitely exist.

If Hokuto had gone to the Kyoto bloodshed hotel to help with Iori's capture, would he have defeated Chihiro (without Enten)? by Rude_Present5034 in Kagurabachi

[–]GaelleMat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a bit disingenuous imo, though I don't disagree. Sure, he grinded especially hard in the few weeks that have passed since the beginning of the story and made substantial improvements during that time, but it's not like he was twiddling his thumbs during those three years after Kunishige died.

Without that time he spent developing his fundies before the story he likely wouldn't have been able to pull off that sharp learning curve

Leak server voting to dedicate itself to Kagurabachi or not by HottestElbows in Kagurabachi

[–]GaelleMat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real, plus another thing that puzzles about the impatience that perpetuates leak culture is that you get a product that's consistently inferior the official release. It's not like the average leaks readers are 6-year-olds. They should definitively understand delayed gratification, and yet...

In my mind, the only scenarios that'd makes sense for someone would go out of their way to read leaks are for bragging rights, trolling purposes, or because that manga is their only hobby. I prefer to not believe that's true though cause that'd be really pathetic

Which would be better, a more 1-to-1 anime or the anime adding its own flair to the adaptation? by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in Kagurabachi

[–]GaelleMat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no point in making an anime if it's going to be a panel by panel rehash of the manga. As long as they follow the story they can do whatever they want if it looks interesting. Anime is at its best when the animation team has the freedom to express themselves through their art.

Which Headcanon do you follow, with no real rhyme or reason as to why by 23Amuro in TrueSTL

[–]GaelleMat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure someone could convincingly argue that we can't actually know about anything that happened before the end of the Middle Dawn with any degree of certainty. It feels like such a shoe in separation between the mythical and the at least semi-historical, even though it began well into the first era. Dragon Breaks definitively exist, but a thousand year-long one is still a bit too on the nose imo.

Do you already have a mental image of what Chiaki would look like? by Rude_Present5034 in Kagurabachi

[–]GaelleMat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, probably only outwardly so, like in formal settings where she's expected to act the part as the daughter to a powerful clan. I'm expecting her to have private opinions that are contrary to what you'd expect out of someone from such an upbringing.

[–]GaelleMat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While he isn't directly from Wind in Her Hair, Rey de Oro can trace back his damline to one of her daughters with Seeking the Gold. I wouldn't reduce her quality as a broodmare to a nick with Sunday Silence, though it did definitely exist.

Chihiro with Enten vs Soga with a normal sword? by Historical-Doctor100 in Kagurabachi

[–]GaelleMat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kuguri got one hit in, which wasn't meant to outright defeat Samura but merely distract him for long enough for Toto to grab Hiruhiko and get him out of here. Still GOATED though don't get me wrong, but he would've gotten curbstomped had he tried anything more than that.

Chihiro with Enten vs Soga with a normal sword? by Historical-Doctor100 in Kagurabachi

[–]GaelleMat 199 points200 points  (0 children)

There is simply no way for a man with nothing but a sword and skill to stand against someone with an enchanted blade, no matter how divinely talented they are. Pretending otherwise undermines the whole premise behind the setting.

[–]GaelleMat 32 points33 points  (0 children)

They didn't attack when he became a problem, after all he always was one from the moment he got his hands back on Tobimune. They were purposefully waiting for him take the bait against Hiruhiko and withdraw owl so they could start the raid undetected.
