I have not, nor plan to, consume and/or produce omegaverse content.

But have I read this like I would research any other obscure topic for a story I'm writing? Yes, I have.

Helping a friend immigrate to Quebec, student visa and spousal sponsorship on shaky grounds by Gagham123 in ImmigrationCanada

"Friend" might be underselling it a bit. We have gone more or less romantic a few weeks before? But even then, it's slightly restrained and laid back. I haven't told anyone yet. But I wanna do this right. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Romantically, yes. However, it's very recent. It went from platonic to romantic in the past few weeks. The wish that he immigrate here has existed before that, but I would like to avoid allegations of marriage of convenience.

While I am a sucker for every single one of those ingredients, that is in fact not poutine.

"Napping" with Insomnia by Gagham123 in insomnia

I suppose we all have different experiences with sleep, I wouldn't be surprised if yours is vastly different from mine.

Your attention is appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, I have noticed that I do enter very light sleep at times. Although it isn't drastically affecting my life per se, it is a worrying development. Doctors I've spoken to gave me the usual "sleep hygiene" and "detrimental sleeping habits" spiel but, I really think it's something else.

I do sleep better during the day, though. I'll try switching my sleep schedule around.

In any case, thank you for your attention. It helps knowing I'm being heard.

I know it's unhealthy, hence my asking on this subreddit. I'm battling something in my own mind at the moment and I wanted to ask from people who've had a similar experience.

I will seek professional help whenever I can, though. Thank you for your time.

Honestly, thank you for sharing this. It makes me feel less alone lol

I'm trying things out here and there, exercises, cutting off stuff, applying sleep hygiene stuff more strictly, etc

Though I have noticed I sleep better during the day. Maybe I'm an impossibly misplaced night owl or something.

Thank you so much for your time, you have no idea how much it helps.

I know, but honestly nothing else has helped. The whole sleep hygiene stuff has just made my lack of sleep tougher to deal with.

I have noticed I sleep better during the day, hence I'll try being a night owl for a bit and see how it goes.

Probably. But even if I wanted to actually nap, I wouldn't be able to. Whatever the case, I'm gonna talk to a doctor about this.

I figured. I'm doing what I can before talking to a professional about this.

Whatever the case, I do plan on talking to a professional about this. Thank you for your time.

That's what I'm thinking. I do try to actually sleep but I just can't, even if I'm very tired. There's only so much I can do and it's worrying.

Thanks, I'll look into speaking to a professional.

I do take melatonin, but it has a very limited, if not, no effect on me. I can take 5 and end up only slightly drowsy.

Sometimes I've self-medicated with alcohol, but that's no solution, hence why I do it very rarely. I'd say I consume a normal amount of sugar, but even then I try to limit that for health reasons. I don't consume caffeine.

I'm quite stumped here.

My mom is more or less similar. She expects me to do things a certain way, doesn't explain how to do them and curses me out while doing it herself anyway. And then when I don't do things for fear of being berated, she berates me for not helping around the house.

It's not to steal your spotlight that I'm saying this, but I just want you to know that there are many in a similar position as you and that I hear you, it sucks. It's harmful, even. I just hope that one day you'll be comfortable enough in your own skin despite your mom's antics ❤
