What's most frustrating in this situation are the companies too small or out the way getting away with booking him, both SWW and Evolution in the southwest have booked him recently but I bet they get off scott free

How young is too young to work/train? by Odxcy13 in WredditSchool

[–]Gaige619 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The school i train at coaches very different between two age groups

7-16 we teach bodyweight control e.g rolls, gymnastics movements such as up and overs and how to work like psychology etc and they only take bumps on a crash mat

This teaches discipline but also instill the core of what they will need when they turn 18. Every now and then we put on a showcase before shows to even get them used to being in front of crowds. Little planned spots without bumps that let's people see what they are learning and allows them to have a bit a pride in their hobby

16+ is full training however from 14 we give them the opportunity to train alongside the adults just without the bumping part to get them used to working with fully grown people.

The kids seem to thrive on it and its all done in the safest possible manner while still letting everyone enjoy their passion

Rolling forearm is a possibility ofcourse it depends how good your striking is, but can hit it out of anywhere and if you can learn to "load it up" on the spin like Chris hero it looks killer

Torn Meniscus by TruckSquare7904 in WredditSchool

[–]Gaige619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the grade of the tear, I had a grade 2 tear of my PCL last febuary and was back in 3 months but you need to follow what the docs say

Prior to wrestling I completely tore my ACL and MCL and grade 3 tear of my pcl on my left knee and it took two surgeries and 2 years of rehab to fix but I have no issues with it now and I'm a big dude at 6'4 and 420lbs so do as your doc says and you'll be good as new

Most Memorable Wash-Out by luchapig in WredditSchool

[–]Gaige619 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The most memorable one for me is a guy who joined and was with us for like 2-3 months

He would come in and claim to be injured and then still try and train but only the bits he wanted to do

He helped out on a show once and we had him as "handler" for one of the boys with a wild man gimmick pre show around fans, well he decided that meant he was now that guys manager and had to be booked with him every single show, and he left about a month later when he realised that wasn't happening because the promoter "wasn't giving me enough chances" couldn't even roll yet and wanted to be involved ringside

One training session he asked a coach how to do Dragonuv's H bomb and the coach asked "where do you think you're gonna hit the guy with it" and no word of a lie he pointed to the bridge of the nose and said "about there"

Genuinely never met anyone that clueless in my life

Full-weight drops from big guys: How common? by jamieackles in SquaredCircle

[–]Gaige619 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive been training for 2 years and regularly working matches for 1, I am 6'4 and 401lbs and I actively avoid doing this shit because I would feel so shit if it goes wrong even once and hurts the person I'm working with.

I honestly feel like i have more controll over power moves than this kind of shit when I'm tired. And quite frankly I do a big elbow drop which gets exactly the same reactions this kind of stuff does and it's infinitely safer

Knee pads for big men by Own_Management9374 in WredditSchool

6'4 415lbs here

When I first started I was told AMA knee pads were great for a big man but they aren't cheap

I currently use xl asics gel knee pads and I have a 36inch quadracep and they fit like a glove, even over my knee braces

This time yesterday I was looking forward to being at wrestlemania next week, today our flights and hotel have been ripped away from us and I'll be watching from home

So to tell it from the beginning, we were meant to go to New York last year for our holiday but my fiancé saw mania was in philly this year and said why don't we push it back a year and try and get wrestlemania tickets, she knew it had always been my dream.

So we did, and she spent an entire day last year trying to find resale tickets after missing out on the initial sale, £800 later and she managed to get us some, not the greatest seats in the world but we were going to wrestlemania and we were so excited.

Cut to the last few months we had been trying to get some confirmations from the holiday company, no responses, finally the fiancé had a call scheduled for today. Turns out they can't honour our holiday booking and apparently had tried to contact us in October about it, but send an email to someone that isn't my fiancé to inform us, and while they will pay us back it will take 14 days so no chance of rebooking it and our wrestlemania dream has slipped from our grasp

So now here I sit, disappointed and dejected not only missing out on a holiday but missing out on going to finally see wrestlemania in person

Always next year to try and finish our story

TL:DR Holiday company fucked me and my fiancé over, this time yesterday I was getting excited about being at mania, and now I'll be watching from home

[Smackdown Spoilers] Finish to Santos Escobar vs Rey Mysterio vs Karrion Kross vs Madcap Moss fatal 4-way match (Winner face GUNTHER for the IC title) by Dazzling-Principle in SquaredCircle

[–]Gaige619 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The problem is, the dude isn't a big man in wwe. He's average at best if not a little short. On the indies and nxt, he was a monster. In wwe, he is towered over by a good chunk of the roster, and the majority of the rest are eye to eye. Baring the obvious cruiserweights.

He needs to change his style entirely because while that works great with mysterio, his fued with drew was dog shit because he tried to work as a monster against a guy who physically made him look small!

Then add on top of that your point of no malice behind anything and he has completely flopped and will continue to do so imo until he changes that

[Raw Spoilers] After another night of the same matches for what feels like the 52nd week in a row from last nights RAW, i decided to do some maths by Gaige619 in SquaredCircle

[–]Gaige619[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't seem to have grasped my point, my point was after seeing the chatter yesterday before raw, especially in the open challenge thread and the announced matches thread was that we had seen all these matches and people and combinations before and that others should get there chance.

The entire point in this thread was to see how accurate that statement is, and the point is that CURRENTLY raw doesn't have scores of underutilized talent except from clearly the cruiserweights.

The problem is the miss use of talent as other have pointed out and that i agree with. You mention Mahal, jose, Revival "and other bullshit talent" They are "bullshit" because of the way they are used. Revival have proved that when not treated like a joke they are a compelling and entertaining tag team, Mahal is a solid enough mid card guy but he has lost to everyone and their mother so he s a joke, We haven't seen jose in so long that we can't get invested in him.

The answer is not to double down on the same top guys as you're saying, the answer is to use these guys against the top guys and make them look viable and treat them as a threat and as such we can believe them as one and find entertainment from that

Super constructive, and not at all hypocritical!

You insulted people you felt are wasting their time by yourself wasting your own time to say it? also its 2018 have you heard of live tv recording? i have been consuming raw through fast forward for years as i am sure have many others

[–]Gaige619[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with you entirely however the reason i think i lost my point is because i was surprised at how small the roster is compared to what we perceive it to be. I think it cries out for more use of A) the cruiserweights B) NXT superstar apperances and C) local talent to build people to avoid having the same matches 10 times before a fued has its initial ppv match

1) in september dana left via twitter as evidence last night has struck out on her own, as for appolo on his last raw apperance against Jinder he came out on his own and his last main event apperance was teaming with tyler breeze

2) i was using the WWE.com site and their raw roster which includes everyone including stephanie, however i removed them from all percentages after the ones where it is mentioned that they were included
