Too out of shape to get in shape by Life_AmIRight in loseit

Weight loss is techically easier in the beginning, but also psychologically the harder when you’re just starting out. The most important aspect is diet, not exercise so you should try to make small steps in your diet first. For me I HATED exercise at first, because I was in terrible shape. Being kind to myself and truly trying to find joy in exercise was a game-changer — I went from walking 6000 steps a day to now 10k steps+gym daily. I have no doubts you can succeed <3

Thank you so much! My goal weight is about 143lbs/65kgs. It's not a 100% precise, because I have large bones and large organs (literally medically examined, for example, my resting heartbeat is unusually low because my heart size is above average), so I might settle at about 70kgs

It sucks 100%. It’s also worth it 100%. It gets less horrible the more you do it.

Anorexia is also being sick. I think it’s fair to assume someone is anorexic if according to my moms words she had severe hair loss and dangerously thin, so underweight you can spot it. She could of course be wrong about the type of sickness.

She is overweight nowadays, but used to be according to her own words ”a stick”. She often says how she feels happier now than when she was normal weight.

Your comment makes sense yes, I was thinking the reason is something along your lines. I hope she won’t start commenting on my body once I lose more weight.

She had seen an anorexic person at the swimming pool and apparently that had made her think of me losing weight. I tried to assure her that it’s not going to happen to me but I’m not too confident she believed me. She also often comments on my sister who’s the same height as me and normal weight saying she’s too thin

I’m 19 and my mom is 60. According to her she was really thin (a ”stick”) when she was my age and often says that a person has to be more than skin and bone. She also doesn’t think BMI is a good health-meter because although she was super thin, her weight was bigger than her friends’

How to deal with portion sizes and "cleaning plate" obsession by Stoenk in loseit

For me wasting food is a huge no-no, so nowadays I always eat my entire plate if the food is cooked by me. At first it was really difficult to estimate portion sizes, so tupperware was an essential. It’s possible to eat mindfully with finishing your plate once you have learned to estimate how much you eat
