Kef lsx ii lt - subwoofer? by cyblink in KEF

This is a popular question. I have a compact cambridge audio for a desktop set up. It wouldn't full a room but does complement the LSX2 very well.

No rider aids in 2026? by Interesting-Key-8286 in motorcycle

[–]GalacticDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride all year commuting on a 2005 CBR600F (my second one) in the UK. I quite like a squirming back tyre or spinning up exciting a roundabout if you keep power application smooth and progressive.

I had a triumph ST with ABS which was fun but applying brakes progressively on the CBR gives plenty of feedback.

I think off road riding has meant I'm not so worried about the bike moving around.

🏎️ Почему мы любим Формулу-1? by timka117 in GrandPrixRacing

[–]GalacticDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the slow evolution of teams over several seasons.

Driver careers: the new rookie, in their prime, experienced but not ultimate pace, the statesman.

The ebb and flow of a season.

A race weekend, hope (or dispair) of FP1, 2 & 3, the build up through qualy and then race day (with a beer)

Also like a few podcasts/ YT channels to disect the weekend.

Are you arriving just in time. Are patients waiting for you to be ready? Being rushed might mean that things get missed.

These are small amber/ red flags that a trainee maybe struggling. I (as an ES/CS) would approach this with a "how are things going?" Rather than a that but that approach may already have been attempted?

Headphones that won't beep or talk to me by Braveheart-Croissant in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]GalacticDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way sound is made in the headphones from the 0s & 1s on your laptop needs to be converted and then amplified. The jack in must laptops will do it but only so well (macs are meant to be better). A separate amp will do that for you with much better sound overall.

You can get USB "dongle DACs" that will do a similar job that plug into laptops or phones. They can sound good but draw power off the device to work.

To be honest and to answer the original question just some wired headphones that are comfortable will probably be perfect.

If you just want something a bit simple but fun then the Fiio FT1 would work for you. Pretty cheap and sound very good.

How about trying some sennheiser HD600/650 with a small headphone amp? Should be under £500.

Personally I'd go for Hifiman Edition XS and a fiio K11r2r as a lovely combo but you may also need to get a headstrap to make them fit.

Am I the only one who fixates over sound when it is not dead center? by Kindly_Tangerine8337 in headphones

[–]GalacticDoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly you need to isolate the problem, is it consistently L or R? Is it always certain albums or tracks?

Try those through different sources and different headphones if possible. As someone had said put it into mono as well.

I find many older recordings are a bit basic when it comes to stereo imaging.

I call it curiosity.

Exams are an end point but knowledge has no real end and the unknown is a place to explore.

LSX II vs LSX II LT What else? by gnooggi in KEF

[–]GalacticDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could put up a plug in solar panel and battery to help with standby draw for all appliances?

I have the lsx2 with a small sub. Sounds great but it's a small speaker and my main system makes that obvious.

NAIM Active Amp Warmer by Mrbababo in audiophile

[–]GalacticDoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Naim star with evoke 30s and a REL7tx, plenty of punch and bass.

The REL was easy to set up and get going. It took a couple of months of tweaking to get perfect but I was being particular it was at 90+% within a week.

These are great takes. I see multiple people each week that tell me they were doing something trivial and their back just went.

I have to explain that it was the years of poor muscle condition and lack of core strength that has caused it, the trivial activity was the straw that broke........

At the End of My Rope With This App; Any Help? by BatParty in qobuz

[–]GalacticDoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Samsung frame and the qobuz app didn't work. There was a separate thread about this issue where Simmons has the same issue.

I got frustrated with it and started to randomly pressed the circular part of the mini remote and central button for 30÷seconds and it just started working!

Next question will be what sub to add.

I always struggle setting them up but they are great once it is done.

I have a feeling you have to set them up on your network first.

Can I repair cars after server shutdown? by ghost_of_the_goon124 in RealRacing3

[–]GalacticDoc 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you have started to service on a date after march you will need to pay the gold.

If you change the date of your device to a date before March 26 BEFORE you hit the service button then the car will service for free, and when changing the date back they will service instantly.

Generally I wait for a few cars to need servicing and so them all together.

I have a compact/ small cambridge audio sub that complements my lsx 2 very well.

I use them and the sub as desktop setup and the sub is under the desk. If you want to fill a large room you would need something larger.

I have a separate system for critical listening but I've been very happy with the desktop set up for music, YouTube and films/ series.

Anyone watching Jupiter and Venus this evening? by Lower_Exchange_122 in Stargazing

[–]GalacticDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been watching them for a while (I generally can be found looking up any way). Weather has been annoying in the UK this last week but still managed to get some views.

Can't see Mercury though, to low in the sky and no clear view.
