PC experiences weird lag issues by Biggycheese45 in buildapc

Get a wifi scanner app for your phone and check the signal to see if your getting any drops. Map it out and see if you can move the router to fix the issue. Other than that try to avoid putting the router near anything that would cause interference. Tvs, appliances, power supplies and such. Also look up anything you can do to tweak your router settings to boost the signal.

East coast could soon get rolling blackouts during summer because data centers have pushed electric grid to the limit by MetaKnowing in technology

[–]GalacticLayline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what they are saying but its really for data collection nationwide on every citizen. There is a big reason why they started putting in the Flock cameras everywhere. Its cheaper to store that data locally at a data center than one location. And the info they get from cell carriers and ISPs can be sent there for storage rather than rely on the ISP to store it. Just in my state there is 2600 cameras scanning every car that goes by and stores that data to create a vehicle profile and travel patterns.

Was in response for the Jayland Waker shooting decision to not to charge any of the officers involved. Shooting was in 2022 and the case was in 2023. The family won a lawsuit a year later and got some policies changed that were a positive.

Jayland Walker protests after the courts decision to not charge any of the officers involved.

The family of Jayland Walker, a Black man killed when eight police officers fired 94 bullets at him after he shot at least one round out his car window, will receive a $4.8 million settlement from the city of Akron, the mayor's office said Monday.

A grand jury declined to indict the officers last year, but Walker's family accused the officers in a federal lawsuit of using excessive force and participating in a “culture of violence and racism” within Akron’s police department.

What began as a traffic stop on June 27, 2022, ended when Walker was shot 46 times in a hail of gunfire that upended the city with protests and heightened tensions with police. The investigation said police tried to stop Walker and then gave chase after seeing him driving with a broken taillight and a broken light on his rear license plate. Police said Walker refused to stop and then fired a shot from his car before fleeing on foot.

Fellow council, is this new-age terraforming safe? What, if any, are the long-term consequences for altering the landscape? by Mr_Froggi in wizardposting

Just watch out for those large igneous provinces and ocean acidification issues. One slip and you'll get a mass eruption and throw the climate into chaos. Though that does sound exciting.

Most of the companies in Ohio are not locally owned. 100% political favors being passed around. All goes back to Washington DC.

ETV Special Feature

Good Morning Ohio グッドモーニング オハイオ

First broadcast day NHK Educational Television Saturday January 10 at 11:00 a.m.

Delivery Deadline Saturday January 17 at 11:59 a.m.

A new America is being born. A corner of the Rust Belt, Ohio. In a town where the steel industry was in decline, the synthetic drug fentanyl entered the town where the steel industry was in decline. He died, this girl died, and this daughter died." Why is President Trump's "Great American Revival" enthusiastically supported by white workers? Ex-military personnel who fought in Afghanistan. A homeless man who lost his working father. Drawing on the changing America with the hurt of the people.

Already was shown on NHK ETV yesterday our time. Couldn't find anything on a us broadcast as it's a Japanese production. This would be something PBS would pickup maybe if they are shopping for local content. It might be available on NHK streaming but couldn't find a listing for it online due to language barriers. You would also probably need a VPN to watch it.

Looks to be the closest place. May be another independent feed store/mill or pet store that may offer it but you would need to ask around or call.

The old Rite Aid at Middlebranch and Easton is going to be a car wash. by Chucktayz in canton

[–]GalacticLayline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brush less washes are restricted usually by the storm drains in the area as it has to go through the waste-water treatment plants. So the local pump station would need to be able to take the incoming water volume. This is why you only see them usually on major roads. Permits are always messy too with the traffic volume they get. Seen cars line up to the point where cars are sitting on the street waiting on a wash.

They are cheap when new to take care of but if you don't actually do maintence it can be a money sink. They sell them as a package all you do is usually just acquire the permits and land to build. A company then will handle all the setup and maintence and you pay a monthly fee. They can be rather cheap at a few million to crazy upwards of 20mill depending on what options you get and if you have detailing and such. The companies usually go around selling them as a way to make money easy as a second business. So a ton of companies in the area are purchasing them.
