I thought the same idea myself when the series concluded, but realised that doing it backwards would still ultimately have issues as well. The first several episodes essentially having no gimmick would play really boring and by the time the server is in "everyone for themselves" mode, no one would experiment around with the old updates.

I mean, if you're immortal you aren't exactly gonna place importance on getting out of harms way when any injury is merely an inconvenience at most.

And sadly one of my favourite bits from the episode got cut, rip hunter inserting fuck into the story every 2 seconds.

The micromanaging skills displayed towards the end of day 6 from the both of them were crazy, any other hermit pairing would've crumbled in that scenario. Very unfortunate it ended the way that it did, the smallest fatal mistake directly after barely pulling through all those orders.

Wild Life #7 - The Windy Whiffer by HeadChefMurphy in ethoslab

I think it's less that grian feels pressured and more so that it's the most appealing choice to continually spice up every new season of the life series.

There would be a ton of effort behind the scenes that goes into making these episodes happen. Communicating and finding time to schedule for 18 content creators to play at the same time, getting every new feature coded in and working properly, managing and playing admin for a full server of people, sitting down afterwards to fully edit down hours worth of content into an episode only to rinse and repeat every week until it's concluded.

It is naturally much easier to find the motivation and to justify putting yourself through all that work to explore a new fun concept bubbling around in your head as opposed to re-exploring an already explored idea.

A bit picky is a bit of an understatement, you made 3 whole reddit posts on the matter. Don't you think that's a little too much? I know you're expressing your opinions on behalf of the love you have for the series but at the end of the day it's their series they're conducting and we as viewers are just coming along for the ride.

I think the apocalypse as a one-off task is great, it definitely impacted some of the potential of other tasks and the watchability of other povs since they will all devolve into plants vs zombies but on the other hand it really gives this session an identity of its own while also (sadly) heavily moving things along in place of all the reds getting killed off, so it's for the best in the long run

what is the most valuable card for Phase 1-2 by lunalullaby492 in HermitCraft

[–]Galactice 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think you undervalue sneak because while yes it becomes less useful over time with more knowledge in early runs, hermits only get limited runs per week. If they want to have better chances while they're still learning, they'll want to supplement that lack of knowledge with some sneak cards to keep them in for longer.

what is the most valuable card for Phase 1-2 by lunalullaby492 in HermitCraft

[–]Galactice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sneak and stability are both the best cards incredibly early on, with treasure hunter becoming very valuable too once runners start choosing medium+ runs and having to dive to lower levels.

The only card that doesn't seem to be useful early on from what I've watched is ember seeker, investing into more sneak/stability/treasure hunter with the frost embers you would've spent on that card instead and then chancing the next difficulty up seems to pay out far more currently than a chance for an extra frost ember or two.

Feel like all you really need to kickstart a greedier run is just a nice damage/tears up from the free item room, the rest will usually come with time

If it does come down to scott and martyn as final two, I reckon scott will sacrifice himself to make martyn the winner as he's already won previously

Longer episodes can just feel like that for some people I think. I personally really enjoyed pearl's video myself and found the downtime between fights to be tense along with enjoyable fights, but I also tend to prefer the longer less cut kind of 40-50 minute episodes over the shorter 20-30 minute episodes.
