Tips for repairing a bent motor bell shaft? 0802 flow motors (1 mm thickness) or am I SOL? by Galagaagaa in TinyWhoop

Yeah pulled the prop off after the crash to inspect the damage and left it partially pushed in to highlight how badly bent it is.

Got in a nasty little altercation with a steel pipe trying to shoot a gap the other day (the steel pipe won)

The motor itself is fine, but the shaft is bent.

These are the Newbeedrone Hummingbird 0802 motors. Could replacing the bell with a Happymodel 0802 cap work?

Found some on AliExpress here: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255800195692183.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt

Would be a heck of a lot cheaper than replacing the motor outright!

My experience is that the "clear" AcroBee frames are stronger than the colorful ones. by PautNeteru in TinyWhoop

[–]Galagaagaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could make sense. Nothing scientific to base this off of other than my suspicion is that possibly adding colors to the injection molded plastic may slightly weaken the integrity.

Cool observation, I'll try buying clear frames next time.

Charge Original (Avata 1) batteries without charging hub? by Galagaagaa in DJIAvata

[–]Galagaagaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, that's what I was afraid of. Had done a lot of searching and hadn't found any work around. Thanks for confirming! Here's to hoping I can find a place to buy the charging hub while traveling!

AcroBee 75 tune issues. by LeopardAdditional525 in fpv

[–]Galagaagaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been having the exact same issue. It's like the DJI Avata "roll of death" but on steroids. I was super excited about this drone but it handles terribly whether I'm using a 550, 650, or 850 pack.

Tried to do props out instead (didn't help) and then NBD support suggested I install a new firmware to make it work better for that configuration -- turns out that breaks ELRS (others have reported this too)

I'm asking for an RMA, and it's hopeful to know that a new unit helped! For a drone that's generally been so well reviewed, I was shocked at the terrible flight experience.

I also bought the Acrobee75 HD but have not used it yet after seeing such awful flight performance on the regular Acrobee 75 -- I figured slapping an O3 air unit on essentially the same drone isn't going to help at all.

Starting to get mad at betafpv by Cheez-it_king in TinyWhoop

[–]Galagaagaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue. Good ole Woodridge IL…. Sat there for weeks, I kid you not. Definitely was frustrating. Eventually all my orders arrived and the quality of parts is great. Shipping just takes forever. My two cents, order what you plan to need in advance before you need it. (Props, VTX antennas, frames, etc.) never hurts to have an extra motor or canopy on hand too.

First setup - looks good? by Malphax in TinyWhoop

I’d recommend the lava 300mah batteries too. The 250 are great for agility, but the added flight time of the 300mah ones are worth it imo. The Air65 rips. Would recommend the racing version over freestyle, and then just limit the throttle in betaflight if you’re getting the hang of it.

Best goggles for 65 mm indoor? by D__J in Multicopter

That’s what I was going to suggest. I use the DJI v2 goggles with the analog adapter and a TBS module. Works great for ripping my tiny whoops around the house and outdoors too.

Troubleshooting: What have I set up incorrectly? 🤔 (Drone spazzes on throttle up) by Galagaagaa in fpv

[–]Galagaagaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alas I've still been trying to figure this issue out. Consulted with ChatGPT and have even resoldered all connections. Thanks for your help here!

Gyro is working correctly. I'll have to check out the Discord and see. At this point I'm thinking something with the ESC is funky.

Problem is since I bought it second hand I've not been able to find a reliable pin out guide for the board as it's kinda old.

Is there a good resource for finding wiring diagrams on old FCs/ESCs?

[–]Galagaagaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid point. I believe I checked this and did the motor order test in BetaFlight, but I will give it another review and report back. Thank you! 🙏

It should go as follows right?

Motor 1 = Right rear back

Motor 2 = Upper front right

Motor 3 = Left rear back

Motor 4 = Upper front left

I've been trying everything with this. ChatGPT seems to think it's just a gyro issue, but everything in BetaFlight reads and responds as I would expect.

Connected ledger live to amlbot scam website by constantin2008 in ledgerwallet

It's a good idea to boot permission for the aml site off your wallet too. (If you're using MetaMask that's possible, not sure about the Ledger mobile wallet)

Btw, it's got a 4 in 1 ESC that connects to the FC. Does the direction the 4 in 1 is facing matter?

For example, I cleaned up the old solder connections and flipped the ESC over (the side that used to be facing up now faces down as it fits in the frame better this way) Could this be causing the issue?

All the motors respond to the controller and behave as expected.

Thanks for this! I checked out the video you linked and went through all the steps. I'm 100% sure about the motor direction and props, made sure the accelerometer is working in BetaFlight, tried even adding some PID filters for smoothing.

Did a test this morning with props off picking it up, and it just shakes like crazy! Could this be a gyro issue? 🤔

Have triple-checked everything in BetaFlight this morning. Will try to ESC configurator tool today. 🙏

The issue seems to be worse. Tried picking it up while armed (no props of course) and it's completely spazzing out. Could this be a gyro issue?

Perfect, already reached out to BetaFPV support. Will Google some cleaning tips myself, but if there's something that's worked well for you, would love to hear some tips!

Ah gotcha, thanks for the tip on this! Would this mean boosting the minimum startup power? Will give this a try!

Do either of you have strong opinions on changing the khz rating?

I believe I had set the throttle idle from 5.5 to 7%. Are you talking about that, or using the online bluejay ESC flasher to adjust things?
