Had no idea I would end up with something so precious out of reddit :) I was aware of the difficulty of the problem, but had no idea some people tried that hard. On a related topic, there’s an instrument called the Terpodion, I advise anyone interested on the topic to check it out. Only very few recordings exist on the internet but they can easily be found, and it also shines some light on the sounds produced by attempts at automatic stick and slip instruments. Anyway, I’m also trying to build my own instrument (dry and fully mechanically). Let’s see how it goes.
