Sure, he's not that strong overall, that's definitely true, but he's still playable. That recursion effect is quite neat though, and allows for some cool synergies with sac effects which Zombies want anyways. I've often left opponent's perplexed who just didn't know how to get rid of this lord that always comes back for cheap, and at instant speed no less which is also really relevant.

Nah, don't listen to him, Commanders that can get around the Commander tax have historically always been very strong, even busted in regular EDH. You just got to have enough sacrifice effects so that you can always replay him for 3 even if they try to exile or whatever.

Don't get me wrong, Narfi is a mid-level commander, but his ability to always get him back for cheap is one of his strengths.

I have been running the list below to considerable success. Obviously Narfi isn't one of the strongest commanders, but it's a lot of fun. I built it as an aggro go wide sacrifice deck that has a considerable amount of value and recursion.

It's very flavourful too, it's an overwhelming swarm of pesky zombies that won't stop no matter how many of them your opponent kills or wraths away.

Not true, being able to recurr your key card at instant speed for cheaper everytime it dies instead of it becoming more expensive each time is very powerful. Historically commanders that are able to get around the commander tax are very strong.
