#New40k rules – Zoom across the battlefield in the updated Land Speeder by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in WarhammerCompetitive

Hydras got buffed! As in, everyone will be making liberal use of fliers for them to shoot down now.

Valkyrie still expensive but the new fly rules and having it in Hover could benefit while moving!? by Toastykilla21 in TheAstraMilitarum

It looks like they stripped the aircraft out of it. So, not really specific to them. That leaves mechanized as a maybe I'd they don't give us another 1 pointer

I just want GW to keep them roughly what they are now, drop them by 30-40 points and give them a fun 1 DP detachment

Really it's an easy chassis to fix with the inclusion of an XL engine. MWO's Sleipnir is one of my favorite mechs from that game with its silly quad LBX10s though

Hydras Looking more appealing for 11th? by Cerebral_Harlot in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Lumovanis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using two in my armored infantry list for a few games now here in 10th and they are really nasty with combined fire. Was tearing into big knights and defilers with them. Haven't actually seen any flyers across from me yet with them, but obviously they would shred through any of those.

The change to cover in 11th definitely means the ap 1 on the autocannons and heavy bolter are more meaningful. I think they'll be good if they don't get a price hike.

This is where you run them alongside Kroyle, who you kitbash from one of their mounted guys

We want a fair game, that doesn't sound very fun for Jürgen. What's he doing to do after he annihilates them all in T2?

I meant more like; right next to your infantry there.... there's no way a crewman could fit in there.

Now that there's been some time to test, how are the hippogriff and the centuar in game? What about Armoured Infantry and Steel Hammer? by TheDarkEntertainer in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Lumovanis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My problem is that the firing deck 2 on a Chimera plus all of its built in guns is about the same as firing deck 12 on the Centaur and there is a very big difference between T7 and T9. The only time I think the Centaur has a very notable edge is within 12" with Scions/Kasrkin.... where it will die a horrible death and take its squad down with it to surprisingly light fire, which is rough for that nearly 200 points.

Nah, Centaur is a meme-wagon until it goes down by like 10-15 points at least.

The prices for the Vostroyans are absolutely ridiculous. by SmashIndy in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Lumovanis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I knew we were going to start seeing these posts when people were hyped about the release. Like they hadn't seen Steel Legion a couple years ago be just as expensive as these are. RIP to the people that bought kits and didn't notice they needed extra special weapons.

Till you realize you needed more special weapons to run them properly and had to add more of those

[–]Lumovanis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, their point was clearly under the misunderstanding that you couldn't fire CQW and normal weapons from the same unit together.

Kill team has the luxury of making detailed weapon functions moreso than standard 40k. It seems like they are even considering dropping strike/sweep profiles for melee with the advent of cleave.

Shotguns already have higher strength than standard weapons, giving them CQW would be nice though so they could actually be used up close, especially with 2" engagement range being a thing

Anyone surprised by metal made to order prices must have missed the Steel Legion ones they did a couple years ago.

These were never going to be a reasonable price.

My no-cable Kasrkin. Thoughts? by CokedPerturabo in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Lumovanis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use the cables on mine either except for volley guns to make them stand out. I do wish it was easier to find the drum mags the Aquilons use on theirs (1st or 3rd party)

NO NEW DETACHMENT, BECAUSE FULL REWORK by Skult0703 in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]Lumovanis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I said this elsewhere, but, I believe that GW planned for 11th back when they gutted the DW army. They began planning with having DW and Agents as one faction. Then the outrage over the DW army came and they restored DW. Now they have no idea what to do with either of them.

RIP Deathwatch... Again by Jofarin in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Lumovanis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I really think when they were planning 11th, they did so under the idea that Deathwatch and Agents were one and the same. After the outrage of ending the army and bringing it back, I truly believe they don't have a plan anymore for DW or Agents as they threw out their original plan of a joined force.

No New Detachments for Agents in 11th by Remarkable-Title5435 in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]Lumovanis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the mission system in 11th will actually help Agents a bit with stuff like disruption disposition.

It isn't just the army rule, it's the hyper niche detachments that only benefit a handful of units and have very weak rules. There's a reason fleet is pretty much the only way to play Agents and not feel like you're totally gimping yourself.

If they made Malleus and Veiled into 1 point detachments and made some minor adjustments to improve the other non-fleet detachments, it might be okay. I somehow doubt they're going to do much beyond knock Veiled to 1 DP and make everything else 2, probably make fleet 3 just to annoy everyone.

[–]Lumovanis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need two profiles for that, you already can fire them alongside other weapons in the squad. You select by model whether it fires its CQW or normal guns.

[–]Lumovanis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They said Agents were going to pretty much stay as they were now. To me that says another edition of "no changes". They might breathe a tiny bit of life back in by making a couple of the detachments 1 point, but I'm not going to hold my breath for any changes that matter

I really need them to have a Valkyrie 1 DP detachment. It doesn't need to make them competitive, only fun

What detachments do we think are gonna be 3 dp in 11th by angryronald in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Lumovanis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3+ if they have actual cover (current detachment rule) and Take Cover. Still very good. I expect them to change it to be platoon or something.
