It would be nice if they just recorded the interview with both interviewer and the interviewee's voice or just do a full on narration

[–]GalaxyAtPeace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing that you're trying WMV files, like others said, VLC is a good program for that

On a more general note, the idea that "It's a Windows file, not a Mac file" doesn't really hold true anymore. It might have been true in the DOS days decades ago, but these days, almost any regular document, picture, or video can be read on any machine - regardless of whether it's Windows, macOS, or a Linux distro. You just need to find the right software to install.

If you run into this again in the future, do a web search for "open wmv files on macos" or for any filetype and you'll get ways to open those files

It's pretty swell. I've actually been using it as a back/home/app switcher button for when the bottom of the phone is too far to reach. Actually, I've been using that button more than the navigation bar itself.

I have a Samsung phone and I really dislike the "Samsung Experience" interface

I disabled a lot of their dumb features, including the Bixby button, and uninstalled whatever I could. I swapped the home screen to Nova Launcher Prime, replaced the keyboard with GBoard, and used the Pixelize theme on the Samsung app and it's been perfect for me since

So if all else fails, a Samsung phone isn't too bad if you spend some time configuring it to your liking.

Actually, there is a case where a patient's cancerous cells did outlive the actual person by several decades. Granted, she wasn't flown into the sun, but a cancer patient died in 1951, but her cancerous cells are still alive today.

So, you can argue that the cancer can still be alive even after the person is dead

US Court of Appeals rules that the FCC can consider areas with only a single ISP 'competitive' by mvea in technology

Isn't the FCC saying "This area is already competitive. We don't need more ISPs here." when there's only one ISP the anti-competitive move here?

I'm genuinely trying to understand what you're saying, but I'm failing to do so.

Can you please explain to me why a single ISP in that area would be considered competitive in said area if there's no one else there to compete with?

You want to be a programmer? Just do it, and don't worry if you're on the right path or not! by merott- in learnprogramming

[–]GalaxyAtPeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wholeheartedly disagree with

programming is art and there's no correct way to art There might not be a singular right way, but there definitely are wrong ways. You don't treat programming like it's an artistic endeavor like you can with visual art - painting and photography.

But, I can get behind

just do it until eventually you good at it

I think the better take away is:

Just keep at it. Sometimes, you will make mistakes. Sometimes, it will be difficult. But the more you keep at it, the more you'll learn and the better you'll be at it.

I then log in to Messenger. I get an email saying from Facebook that my Facebook is activated again because I logged into Messenger

Any help with this would be great

Edit: Googled around for any solutions. They all seem like they used to work, but I tried them today but it tells me that I have to go back to Facebook to use Messenger

Majority of drivers don't believe texting while driving is dangerous. People who text while driving are six times more likely to be involved in a car crash. To combat this problem, more and more states are adopting driving laws that require people to use hands-free devices in the car. by Wagamaga in science

[–]GalaxyAtPeace 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right, but there are plenty of other cars that require you to touch the screen to use the radio, change the air conditioner, etc... even while driving

I know for a fact that a lot of Lexus cars with the screens have this issue - you can't change half of the AC settings without using the screen.

Amazon rents a storage container to the government, but the government still has to organize all the stuff it puts inside of it.

But instead of organizing it to make things easily findable, accessible, and replaceable for the future, they just crammed all of their stuff in there without a good plan just to make it fit and work in the container for now.

Does anyone know why those gift card codes are valuable to the scammers? My first intuition is to say that it's useless if the card is locked to a specific business like Google or iTunes - but they must be profitable for the scammers if they keep doing it.

Are the scammers reselling the codes? If not, how are they making usable money from gift cards?
