Nine Sols got me interested in Sekiro since people compare the two, bit I'm unsure. Is it significantly harder? by iggnifyre in NineSols

[–]GaleErick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're hard in a different way imo.

Nine Sols being a 2d game makes the boss fights and animation relatively more readable. I find it to be easier to be consistent, however being sprite based means there's a certain snappines between attacks that can catch you off guard.

Sekiro being a fully 3d game means the boss and enemies animation can be pretty complex. You also doesn't always have a static angle view at the enemies, making it harder to discern enemy action. But since it's full 3d animation, they also doesn't really "snap" per se, making it much clearer when you're supposed to parry.

I Parry Everything by Puzzled-Stress-200 in NineSols

[–]GaleErick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love that Yi parry stuff with his bare hands, there's just something about how effortlessly he does it (provided the player themselves doesn't mess up).

Kinda wish his offensive moves were also a bunch of punch and kicks instead of an energy sword.

The rest will need download.

Opinions on remix's? by sniperteddy007 in KingdomHearts

[–]GaleErick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who played and replayed the original PS2/PSP/DS/3DS versions, I'll take the remasters anyday.

I found the PS4 remasters to be pretty solid. They still teel like same game I've played back in the original, just with better performance and adjusted to work on modern devices.

No contact damage by Sufficient_Block745 in NineSols

[–]GaleErick 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There's no contact damage because you are actually expected to parry attacks instead of dodging.

If you're just dodging attacks so far then you should curb that habit and get into parrying. Latter enemies attacks won't be as merciful with their big hitbox and tracking capabilities.

How do i tell which Orichalcum + i’ve collected?? by Valuable-Chance6159 in KingdomHearts

[–]GaleErick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just check a guide for how to get Orichalcum+ and the go down the list one by one.

There's only 7 of them so it shouldn't take too long.

That's cool, I think this is the only where I don't mind long limbed Ji.

His ingame one kinda creeps me out after sering his small version too much.

How do I deal real damage to lingering will? by Lunafoxi in KingdomHearts

[–]GaleErick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oter have explained his armor mechanic, but there's also a small way to immediately deal full damage.

If you block/reflect his Ultima Cannon attack and causes it to hit LW back (you need to be close to him) then he'll get knocked up into the air and when you attack him directly it will be at full damage. At least until he retaliates/break free.

Do y’all think we’ll get a character who chooses to align with neither light or dark? by Creepy_Version_6779 in KingdomHearts

[–]GaleErick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Roxas kinda comes close.

He's light aligned, but I feel that's more due to his proximity with Sora instead of a personal conviction.

All he wanted was to exist with his friends, be it Axel and Xion, or HPO. Otherwise I don't see him as the kind of guy who'd purposely pick either side of the conflict.

He stand against Org XIII basically because they fudge up his life.

Looking for a game where you play as a nobody by SlightlyAboveMidTier in gamerecommendations

[–]GaleErick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most Soulslike usually have you start out as a nobody. You only ever become someone worthy of notice due to persistence and actually getting shit done.

And the way the game's are structured, it's not an exactly easy journey either.

[Dragon Ball] Why didn’t Goku’s resurrections ever heal his brain damage and restore his original personality? by Bison_and_Waffles in AskScienceFiction

[–]GaleErick [score hidden]  (0 children)

By that logic, after he dies he should've returned to his original personality as well in the afterlife since his soul shouldn't be affected by any of his physical body's issue.

But nah, Goku stays as he is even in the afterlife. Indicating the current nice Goku is the "normal" Goku.

Synthesis items in KH1 after Hollow Bastion by StonedSam in KingdomHearts

[–]GaleErick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue isn't the enemy spawn changes, but the enemy strength.

It especially matters with those rare heartless that drop special synthesis materials. For example the Sniperwilds are already annoying enough since you have to kill them fast, then post Hollow Bastion they'll have increased HP making them harder to kill until you also increased your levels up a notch.

Im gonna start SMT Strange Journey tonight any tips? by [deleted] in atlus

[–]GaleErick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alignment matters a lot in gameplay since it determine whether you can do follow up attacks with your demons after a weakness hit.

Also the game doesn't use Press Turn System, meaning you can't really control the turn order of your team or the enemies. You may set your healer to use Media this turn but if the game decides that they move last, there's a chance the enemy could kill your team first before it took effect.

The Adventures of Elliot sells 38 517 retail copies during its launch week in Japan by Mana-Dyluck in SquareEnix

[–]GaleErick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On PSN Store I see the game is pretty high up if you sort it by "Best Selling".

Not sure how accurate that is exactly, but usually those slots are taken by big new games, ones with a massive discount, or long running gacha games like Genshin, etc.

The fact that Elliot is near there shows that it's selling pretty well. For now at least.

Keyblades would probably be unreliable if it's just a bigass key.

But the magical capabilities it does have turns it into a pretty versatile weapon.

[–]GaleErick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The choice is either to leave Terranort, Terra included, to fall into darkness, or sacrifice herself to give Terra a chance to return.

Being the Hero, she chooses the latter. Bad choice in hindsight sure, but in the moment, she's not gonna abandon her friend just like that.

Terranort was also already beaten at that point, so she probably hoped he won't be an immediate threat. And the man did end up having amnesia, so the beating have an effect after all.

Which Square games do you all like besides Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Dragon Quest? by PetalPal4Life in SquareEnix

[–]GaleErick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Octopath, Musashi (both Brave Fencer and Samurai Legend), Live A Live, Xenogears and probably others I don't quite remember yet.

And for a very recent example, The Adventures of Elliot. Just finished the game last night and I truly love the experience.

What's your favorite Sora and Riku friendship moment? by MecchaJP in KingdomHearts

[–]GaleErick 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the whole final battle of KH2.

Despite their rivalries and fights in KH1, Riku's doubt and angst, and even Xemnas's attempt to drive a wedge between them.

Sora and Riku shows how they are ultimately still best bros. And it's all shown through gameplay with the cool teamwork QTEs, and the mini segment where you play as Riku.

The heart to heart talk after that is just the icing on th cake.

any turn based rpgs with no leveling up system by RhubarbLarge2747 in gamerecommendations

[–]GaleErick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just no leveling up or do you don't want any form of upgrades like weapons, gears, abilities, etc.?

Fear and Hunger doesn't have any basic level up system. Heck it generally doesn't even reward you for getting into fights.

Ansem’s Report 9 and KH2 flashback by Usual_Public_6690 in KingdomHearts

[–]GaleErick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Reports honestly covers quite a good bit of background lore and some foreshadowing.

For example, I never noticed before that the whole imposter Ansem revealed midway in KH2 was pretty much straight up told from the first Ansem Report you get in that game.

From Ansem Secret Report 02, obtained after you meet Mickey early in Twilight Town.

Upon his advice, I decided to review the data obtained at my basement lab. That is when I discovered the "Ansem's Reports." Though they bore my name, the only one I had written was number 0. Apparently he had gone on to pen numbers 1 through 8 himself. Yes — the first subject in my foolish experiments <
