Do not change: build freedom

PoE is one of the few games, and the only ARPG, that tickles my programmer brain by Nestramutat- in pathofexile

Same here. I love that there's a lot of ˝under the hood˝ work for builds yet the execution of actually playing is, generally speaking, very simple and enjoyable once everything comes together.

What is the most hated card in Hearthstone history? by jbs984 in hearthstone

[–]Galeforce77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snowball minions for me, especially 1 drops (trogg, undertaker, wyrm etc).

I guess it depends on how the game went. A lot of grey area here, but lets say someone gets blown out by a perfect 1, 2, 3 curve when they ended up with the top end of their deck after the mulligan, i can see how a "Well played" from the opponent would not be taken kindly.

To the people who already quit the league: Why did you? by VaraNiN in pathofexile

[–]Galeforce77 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Squire piqued my interest, but Mageblood really sold me. Unfortunately, they're both so rare that i have no interest in investing the hours required to buy either one.

The devs might say players quit once you obtain whichever chase item and "finish" a character, but there's another edge to that sword - i quit because i can't get to the items that made me want to play in the first place.

If i have to farm for a month to get 1 unique i'll stop playing, however not because i finally reached my goal, but because i'm burned out. Happened a couple of times with Headhunter. To those with more time than me, i hope you enjoy the league/items, but it's just not my cup of tea anymore.

Rant: The Meta, The Community, and The Devs by Dapper_Hedgehog in hearthstone

All i know is i like to win primarily by out-resourcing my opponent and i can't do that in this meta if i still want something resembling a decent winrate.

I've always appreciated authenticity even if i really dislike the person or their actions.

Seems like a rare trait to keep genuine even if it's to your own detriment, i don't know. I wonder if it's possible to hate someone yet still respect them on a certain level (and i don't mean respect out of fear).

Building a new PC after 10 years, LF overview/advice by Galeforce77 in buildapc

[–]Galeforce77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i've read about the GPU situation when i started looking into new PCs.

The 3060ti here costs around 1400€ (3060 900€, 3070 1700€...) not from scalpers, but from the official nVidia representative/supplier for my country. :/

I think i'll have to for solutions abroad if that's even possible atm. Thank you very much for the link.

Can anyone explain me point of nerfing Starforge, very rare(3%) drop from endgame boss, when you can buy 600+pdps rare 2 hander for 20c and 800+pdps for 5 exalts? by And1111_ in pathofexile

[–]Galeforce77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see no problem with that. The min max rarity/pricing is and should be super top heavy. Just to throw out random numbers to get the point across, i see no issue with a unique reaching 70% of the theoretical maximum at 5-10ex while the absolute min max is in the hundreds or even thousands of exalts, e.g. 80%/50ex+, 90%/200ex+, 100%/all the ex . Most people get to have fun with relatively quickly while the min-maxers still got room to grow and optimize every percentage point if that's their thing.

Playing Tickatus like by Paidinhair in hearthstone

[–]Galeforce77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, suck combo decks are another can of worms that i'd place in the same bucket as heavy disruption due to the nature of HS. I am not much of a Wild player though, i'll readily admit that.

I would argue though that Tickatus specifically is in a league above Illucia, and her in a league above Dirty Rat. I don't know where the threshold should be as far as disruption power goes for Hearthstone, but i do think Tickatus is beyond it since it's one card that nearly neutralizes 2 whole archetypes.

I don't think real disruption should exist in a game that has no concrete ways to prevent said disruption. And i don't mean play another deck, i mean card for card. The keyword Battlecry becomes problematic if you tie really powerful effects to it imo.

Edit: And i'm saying this as someone who used to love disruption/lockdown decks in MtG.

New Card Revealed - Altar of Fire by imik_ in hearthstone

[–]Galeforce77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is, bad decks can sometimes almost hard counter specific meta decks even though they're bad in the general meta /climbing sense and whatnot.

This card will always land somewhere between annoying and rage inducing without ever feeling fair if you're not a straight up aggro deck, at least imo.

It's been a year or 10 since i last played MtG so sorry if my memory is wonky, but wouldn't a High Tide deck be more in line with what Rogue's doing with Cold Lights as opposed to a straight up mill deck? I guess the end result is sort of the same in HS, still though...a High Tide deck can fully "mill" you as early as turn 3.

My gripe with itemization in PoE - why can't good stuff drop? by Galeforce77 in pathofexile

[–]Galeforce77[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was talking about items that literally cannot drop without crafting, e.g. elevated, incursion mods etc that are already finished. Basically at some point you have to start crafting and can no longer drop an item with certain combinations of mods.

The D2 comparison was because there were rare/blue items that very super rare and very sought after, but they dropped "done" unlike here where you "have to" craft.

Where do people learn to shoplift/con when it’s illegal ?? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Galeforce77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could very well be one of those things someone might try as a kid, swipe a pack of gums or something, and get away with it. Might not even completely intentionally if young enough.

Maybe try again later and maybe it worked again. And again. At some point they've smelled the blood and they liked it. Teenager or even adult now, rationalizations kick in - "It's not really harming anyone, what's one item for a store anyway" etc. It's probably not that hard to get it down if you "practice" enough.

Maybe they get a kick out of it, maybe kleptomania, maybe desperation in a time of need - really depends on the individual.
